My Mulholland is all over the place, when it actually shows a reading at all. It's the sending unit, I just never have replaced it!

Nope, it is just the sending unit that signals the gauge. My local Dealer says that there is a problem with the design, the plastic housing allows moisture to build up in the sending unit, causing it to send faulty readings.

Just a word of caution here. IF you are going to replace the sending unit yourself, be VERY CAREFUL threading and tightening it up. Spec's. call for 200 INCH POUNDS torque. That equates to about 16 FOOT pounds. If this strips out the aluminum block, you just bought a short block. OUCH!!

Oil pressure does not equate to amount of oil. You may have enough oil and the pressure is low - indicating (in most cases) a bad sending unit or faulty oil pump.
