I had a choice to make in 1967, an AC Cobra or Corvette coupe. I bought the Corvette $4000 through the PX, the Cobra was $6500 through the PX. Why Corvette? It has a/c, roll up windows, ect. The Cobra had side curtains and a convertible top. WISH I HAD BOUGHT THE COBRA!!!!! Hind site!! I think Cobra production for the 427 was around 1500. |

Chevy SSR, just north of 24K made. I prefer the Prowler, but I am jealous of the SSR's hard top convertible and room for golf clubs in the back.... |

I recently completed mine with a Crossfire SRT6, may be more common in the US but only 105 coupes were ever made in right hand drive. Here in the UK we have a site to tell you how many of each car is registered. I think I have now achieved my rare garage: With over 35 million vehicles registered I like to think I have managed a pretty good low production collection for my budget. Sold my 1938 Ford Eight hot rod to get the Prowler, no regrets but would love an old hot rod again. They may have made thousands of old Fords but not many left now. Ford GT40 or AC Cobra would be on the list if funds were no problem. |

How about those last Pontiac's with the V-8? I can't recall what they were called, just a letter and an 8. Most are V-6 but a limited number of V-8s. |

Ed. It was the Pontiac G8. A beautiful luxury 4 door sedan that was made in Australia by GM. It had the 6.2 litre V8 engine. In Australia it was called the Commodore. I would love to have one but costly. Another low production Pontiac was the Solstice. A beautiful 2 seater sports car. |

Interesting Cadillac raised here. I actually considered this XLR prior to buying a Prowler. Three problems for me with this neat Cadillac: 1. No Cadillac dealer in Canon City - I need help with servicing cars (I have had problems with both Chevy dealer service departments in the area, don't get me started!) 2. Expensive in 2014, even with serious depreciation 3. I like the Prowler look much better |

Another one I liked, but a bit too common: - Saturn Sky 2007 -"2010" (Yes, very much like the Pontiac Solstice, I know) |

Another Australian transplant that was cool was the: -Pontiac GTO, 2006 - 2008 (rebadged, third-generation Holden Monaro) Problem with this for me was not stock convertible and not that pretty, unlike the Plymouth Prowler! |

Ford's Prowler-envy project: - Ford Thunderbird (eleventh generation) 2000- 2005 I did not realize how many of these Ford actually made until I looked this up. These are "okay", but not nearly as cool as the Prowler. V8 or not! |

I think those 11the generation Ford Thunderbirds were a flop and not liked very much. I remember Katie Couric got the first one, a red one. |

quote: IMO, GM should have kept the Saturn Sky model in production, and re-badge them as Buick Reatta. The Sky was a good looking roadster, with an optional turbo engine. GM killed that car too soon.

How about the Suzuki X-90..... 7,205 units shipped to the U.S. Built from Oct. 1995 to May, 1997. Some took until 1999 to get sold.....it wasn't a hot sales number, lol . . |
