Welcome to all of you. Please join in the discussions as we value your input and ideas. There are no STUPID questions, so ask whatever you like. A couple of tips: Put front mud flaps on IMMEDIATELY, available at the dealer and not expensive. Change FRONT ONLY brake pads to dustless ceramic pads. Saves a lot of washing the rims. Available at almost any parts store. About $ 75. Chrome your grill for about $ 15 with door edge guard. Definitely plan on attending at least one major Prowler event. You get to meet some great people and see a lot of modifications that you might want to consider. PRICELESS. There will be more tips posted by numerous people. I thought this was a good time to re-post this old info since there are so many new people posting. I hope all of you will participate, that is what makes this a great site. Happy New Year to all. Thanks a lot to Mike Krehel for another outstanding year on this site. Thanks also to Tony and everyone else behind the scenes. ------------------ |

O.K. I admit I am a rookie, but what exactly does chrome the grill for $15 door edge guard mean? |

Buy the chrome door edge molding at Pep Boys, comes in a 25ft roll. Before applying clean the grille with rubbing alcohol (important content 70% alcohol) Have a good pair of snips and a very sharp razor knife. You won't believe how good it truly looks. I held it up to the grille measured it very slightly longer, cut it applied it and then trimmed the extra. Took less than a half hour. Oh Yeah, Watch out for Alley Cat. He will come looking for royalties for the idea. LOL ------------------ This message has been edited by BeWare on 01-01-2002 at 12:32 PM |

Another tip, ALWAYS secure the convertible top with the tie down strips. Otherwise the vibration can cause wear spots on the top while "rubbing" against the carpet in the trunk. ------------------ |

Rich C, Here's a picture of what the chrome grille looks like. We used the door trim that BeWare used, but we removed the grille and it was easy to install the trim. Used an exacto knife to cut each piece to length. Less than an hours worth of work. ------------------ |

Pumpkin Boy what a nice garage. I want to do the floor in mine too. I think it is much nicer than cement. Gotta do it this spring. Sassy |

Thank you Sassy for your comments on our garage. we put ceramic tile down, not too bad of a job (if spouse helps). Will give you a hand this spring if we get to Mich. By the way take a peek at our other garages. And again thank you. Garages ------------------ |

Dave, Saw your reply and Pat went to the garage and painted pumpkin, sort of a yellow but this will give you a little idea of what the chrome grille might look like. Hope the paint doesn't dry before she can clean it off.

OK, That's a deal. You two make a nice team. Who is the neat one in the family. By looking at your garage, I got some ideas. First I am going to paint the floor. and then add tons of cabinets like yours. Cant wait. Thanks This message has been edited by SasyMama on 12-31-2001 at 05:52 PM |
