I was wondering if this applied to New prowlers as well. Any feedback from those in the know. "As America enters the holiday season, more and more people will be traveling by car than any other time in recent memory. Peace of mind is more important than ever. In response, Chrysler Group today announced its "Home for the Holidays" program, which will provide - at no charge - a seven-year/100,000-mile power train protection plan on any 2001 and 2002 Chrysler, JeepĀ® or Dodge vehicle purchased between November 1, 2001 and December 31, 2001." ------------------ |

Brian... Prowlers are not excluded from this plan according to the http://www.chrysler.com site. Click on "Special Offers", put in your zip code and there should be a "Home for the Holidays" icon you can click for more info. Here is some additional info they stated: 7-year or 100,000-mile powertrain protection on all new 2001 and 2002 vehicles. See dealer for a copy of this limited warranty. Non transferable, a deductible applies. Offer valid 11/1/01 through 3/31/02. |

CJ, I just bought a new 02 Prowler and I had to pay $500 for the extended warranty, there's no mention of any specials on the Chrysler web site for Prowlers. Please let me know if I'm missing something here, thanks. Al |

Brian, Al. The promotion warranty only covers the Powertrain. The Prowler qualifies for the seven year, 100,000 powertrain Home for holidays special promotion. You should have received a seperate form (DC Corp, 7 year / 100,000 Mile Powertrain, Limited Warranty) with your name & a place for you to sign. The price of the standard DC factory warranty has been reduced for those buyers under the special promotion that would like to purchase the complete extended warranty (which covers other items besides powertrain). ------------------ |

Prowler people, I just bought an extended warranty from DC. I have a Prowler I bought in 1st week of October so I won't get the 7/100 warranty. I did buy an extension for 7 years for 50,000 miles. I only plan to put on a max of 5000 a year so this works, $50.00 ded. It cost $950.00 and then there is a prowler surcharge of $500.00 which the dealer split with me. 7 year /100 was quoted over $3000.00 dollars. I did call a contact that was on this site who was on the board with DC but he never returned my calls.... Frank |

When I bought my car, the dealer told me the Prowler was not included in the Home for the Holidays warranty, so they charged me $550 for a warranty that actually already came with the car. I called Chrysler today and 3 people told me that the warranty was already included in the purchase price of the car. So I went to the dealer today and they called some Chrysler people and some of them said the Prowler was excluded form the warranty, but eventually the dealer spoke with the people that knew that the Prowler is not excluded and already comes with a warranty. The dealer offered to give me my $550 back or to upgrade to a 7-year 60,000 mile bumper-to-bumper warrranty at no extra charge, so I took the bumper-to-bumper warrranty. Thanks Laddie and CJ. Al |

Al, you got a super deal on the bumper to bumper. I was considering upgrading since I have the Home for the Holidays warranty on my Prowler. DC's 800# quote was very high and my dealer offered it at about 1500. I'd love to get one for your price! Congratulations, you did well. Gordon |

Frank, unless things changed, I think the "Prowler surcharge" is a load of crap from your dealer. I got a 7yr/50k warranty, $0 ded. for $970. But don't feel bad if you paid more for your warranty than I did, I paid $4k oversticker. You probably got a great deal since you just bought your Kat and we all know what great deals are out there. |

Thanks Al, this is a 440 six pac car. I will try to send or post a photo. On the warranty, perhaps the deductable will help lower my cost. The surcharge for prowlers is a listed dealer add for specialty cars and it costs the dealer $250 or $275. So your dealer took good care of you. |

Frank, don't know if you're talking about Bob Cooper from Causeway. So, I printed this thread & gave to him this morning... He offers the Prowler warranties for $100 over costs on both the standard warranties & the adjusted warranties that go along with the "Home for Holidays special promotion 7yr / 100,000 mile). He also offers it on other Chrysler products if you identify yourself as the Prowler Owner group... He has sold some on Jeeps & Mini vans to Prowler owners from this site... He said he would be on vacation next week... |
