With production beginning shortly after the first of the year 2002, I knew that DC must have a pre-production car in Candy Red somewhere........... I was lucky enough to drive by when the gates were open and a car was sitting in plain view! The Prowler was very dusty and dirty, so it was difficult to get the true color. I don't think these pictures do the car justice. I need a drum roll, Mike K!!! ^ ------------------ Classic/Beautiful - I'm referring to the Cat of course! Red is a really tough color to digitally photograph for most cameras. I saw the sample and the color is darker than it appears in the pictures and the metallic is quite deep. This is by far one of the best colors yet! CJ, Thank you for sharing the sneak peak with us! |

BobKat This was the proto I told you about. I think there may be a color tweak too. They were talking about a brighter or is it a deeper one too. Sasy PS I am still leaning on a yellow one... but I do like the red if it were a tad brighter. This message has been edited by SasyMama on 11-22-2001 at 12:23 AM |

Mike, you are correct. Colors are extremely difficult to photograph and reflect true colors. It takes professional photographers a great deal of effort and extremely high quality equipment to reproduce colors accurately. You are also correct when you stated that the color sample is darker and deeper. I posted a picture of the color plate a short time ago and I had one heck of a time getting it to come out looking even close to the color. As you can see, the car was partially in the sun and shade. Also remember that I stated that it was very dusty from sitting outside the last couple of days. No way to photo accurately. There is NO pink in this color. This Prowler, to my knowledge, is the only one and was actually finished just a couple of days ago and was not on the ground until then. I don't believe there are any tweaks planned, as this is the exact color from the color master. This message has been edited by CJ on 11-22-2001 at 09:27 AM |

Being a student of Photography, All the new colors that were posted on this site were very very very close to the color in person, JMO. Great Job. |

CJ, Very Nice photos of the Candy Red car!! Looks like a fantastic color. With the photo's you've provided I was unable to tell if DC did indeed go with a white hartzz cloth top. Could you tell? Thanks CJ! You're our CNN of Prowleronline!!..First to deliver the news as it happens. Jack and Chromer |

While doing some shopping the day after, I noted a new DC minivan with an outstanding red candy apple color. I just hope that the Prowler is close to this. ------------------ |
