Chris, it's time you admit you were one of the ones that got us in trouble at TMS!!! I have only been 105 and only slowed down because my neighbor (was giving her a ride) was hyperventilating and screaming for me to slow down........ Geez, I hope RPL doesn't read this! ------------------ This message has been edited by CJ on 05-10-2001 at 03:49 PM |

MidlifeProwler........105 was nothing!!! Back in 1969, Bob and I owned a 1969 Chevy Impala SS. The original 390/427 was replaced by a hot-rodded + .030 in. over-bored 450/454. The 462 in. motor was fully blueprinted, balanced and the cylinder heads ported and polished. The motor was never run on a dyno, so we have no accurate idea as to how much power it made. It did push the almost 4,000 lb. Impala (it was an automatic with air) over 150 mph! We found that out on the roads in Nebraska!!! This was actually our family car. Had a Corvette challenge me at a stop light once to race. Left him sitting at the light!! He was pissed big time. Went flying by me after I slowed down and about a 1/2 mile later I passed him as he was sitting on the side of the street being given a ticket!!! Honked and waved when I went by!! I also had the pleasure of being driven around the Indianapolis Speedway track in the Viper pace car by Carroll Shelby at 140 miles per hour. I would have preferred to have been driving, but they weren't having any part of that! ------------------ This message has been edited by CJ on 05-11-2001 at 12:10 AM |

Chris, I haven't really taken any trips in the Prowler yet. The expressways here are fairly crowded except in the middle of the night and you definitely don't want to be speeding then. They are sitting all over with radar in the middle of the night trying to get truckers and drunks, I guess. It is also pretty hilly around here without any long straight aways where you can see for any distance. I have had the motocycle over 100 but I don't think I have had the Prowler over 90. I have to go to court next week for speeding in Ky. I got caught by an Airport policeman. It turns out they have jurisdiction in three counties since it is an international airport. He gave me a seat belt ticket also. The payout fine is $209 so I am going to court to see if I can do a little better. It was on a little country road coming up from the river to the back of the airport. Oh well. I am pleading insanity. |
