Just curious as to how many members are going to Gas City or Fairmount for the car show. I know they won't let us take our Prowlers in ( afraid we would steal the show ) but if several members are coming we could get together and go out to eat Saturday evening.
If there are enough people interested in bringing their cars I could try to get us a parking spot across from the Park (might be too late to get it this year but we could maybe get something for next year).

We went to it several years ago and it poured down rain just as we got there. I pulled over to watch some of the cars leaving and quite a few stopped to take a picture of the Prowler. If you like cars, you like the Prowler but some of the shows just don't seem to want us around.

Both James Dean and Duck Tails are grat CAR SHOWS. I tink they are both pre 72 vehicles.

For any Prowler owner I would leave it at home and go as spectator. I took the Prowler the 1st year I had it and I parked at a church in Fairmount (James Dean) and at Duck Tails it was late and many cars had already left but they wouldn't let me park where the show was held. I parked across the street, I believe this is where he is talking about parking. It is a park/ball field they had RV's parked over there, had the flame thrower contest and other parking. I talked to a couple by the RV's and they let me park in front of the RV just off the road. I must have had 6~8 campers standing gaurd over the Prowler while Sue and I walked thru and look at the cars left at the show.

Driving down the road close to the entrance to the Duck Tails show I had a guy stop in the oncoming lane and tell me he worked where the door handles were made for the Prowler.

There were several people happy to see the car. This was Sept of 98, too bad they don't allow them into the show, well I guess it is who you know. Gene Ingram a former Chrysler employee/Purple Prowler owner and had a 35 Dodge at the James Dean show also had his 99 Prowler in the show.

As far as RAIN, every year I have went up for the show it RAINS. Hope this year is better and no rain, if I had the Dart fixed it would be tempting to take it.

Depending on what we have to do might make a day trip to the show, either on Goldwing or drive Caddy, still too new for the show but can find some spot to park the '74 Coupe deVille around town

I've been to every show they have had and "most" of the time the weather is great. If they had rain every year they would have a hard time getting 3000 cars to show up year after year.

I have also been many times...several when it has rained. I plan on going again this year as well. NO I will not be driving the Prowler. It would be treated as any other family vehicle with no special parking etc. It is a great rod show and I love the atmosphere. You can see a little bit of everything. If it isn't raining the weather is normally beautiful.
