Larry, good to hear from you again, where have you been? In your opinion what is a 1999 worth with say 25,000 miles to pick a number, in the private market, such as a newspaper ad. Yes, the ppc went the way of Enron. |

A very busy year...became a grandpa in May, summer car show circuit, MOPAR Nationals etc...put on a benefit concert for the local school system, we hired "1964 THE TRIBUTE" a Beatles replicant...lots of time into the planning of that...never been a rock promoter before...put on a car show in New Castle in October...very good show, just cold, had 8 Prowlers and 6 Vipers plus about 125 other hot rods etc...went to England in August to see the real Beatles stuff, lots of fun there...want to go back soon...started another business this past summer and worked the others to some extent...but I have just recently retired for the most part...still own the various businesses but am training others to run them like I want...basically I just get up every day now and decide what to drive and where to eat...planning to do some work on the various Kats this winter and looking forward to a lot less busy rest of my life...planning a Route 66 cruise soon and going to racing school this spring...figure at my ripe old age I better smell the flowers while I can still find them...Kat prices are definately soft...been trying to mave a friends Kat for the low $30K range and not one call yet...a purple 99 w/8k miles....2000 models seem to be languishing in the mid to high $30's with few miles....heard last week DC is offering a dealer kickback of $8500. on 01 Kats to help clear them out of the showrooms....this will not help the pricing situation at all...expect the market to strengthen at a point, but not much and not soon...many toys are bringing LOW dollars...saw a very well loaded (MSRP $53K) silver Vette 2001 Conv with 8k miles sell for $35,5 last week here in my town....and a few Viper deals have passed thru the area lately...also bought back one of my previously owned Muscle cars a couple of months ago, a 70 Challenger T/A(plum crazy)...owned it for a dozen years, sold it and bought it back...just sentiment I guess....my prediction, Kats will drop into the mid to high $20's this next season on pre 2000's with miles....2000's, hi $20's to lower $30's depending on miles etc...2001 models are already in the mid to higher $30's and 02 models will follow thw o1's very quickly unless there is a little interest in the Candy Kat...they will drop quickly also after the last are gone....buyer beware of dealer mark-ups here also...there will be plenty to go around...believe me, people are not exactly running crazy out there to buy one of the "LAST KATS"......glad to be back at the key board again... ------------------ |

Larry, thank you. I remember from the past that you were one of the best experts on the real market out there, even though they threw a little flack your way, at times, for calling it the way it was. |

Hiya T.U.I.B. Nice to see you posting again ... missed your wit and intelligent insight. I agree with your prognosis ... also, many "rentals" out there that are beign put out in auctions, etc and helping to errode the price base. Eh, who cares, mine ain't going anywhere soon anyhow ... Buy it for looks, buy it for life ... if it weren't a slogan for another company's producst, would suggest it for the soon to be departed Prowler ... may it rest in peace. |

EXPERT...WIT...INTELIGENCE......GEEZE, you guys are in need of a friend REAL bad .... Ray...I agree, only buy them because you like them, and DRIVE them while you can....No amount of money can buy more time, use it wisely...invest deeply in family, friends and fun.....I have decided at my age to drive at least one or two of these cars completely into the ground...the memories are worth far more than preserving the odometer...I want to be the guy passing you on the interstate with my long gray hair hanging out the back under a ragged convertable top, rock chips to the door handles and road grime the rest of the way up...and as the years pass, maybe even a folded fender or two ------------------ |
