This coming weekend, July 8th & 9th, there is a full weekend planned for all Mopar car in conjunction with the Dodge/Chrysler plant in Belvedere, IL. Saturday are races at Byron Dragstrip, and then Sunday there is a swap meet and car show on the plant grounds. Buddy and I are going, he in '96 GTS Viper me in '99 yellow Prowler ... come on out and have some fun!

Heh - Didn't know there was a Plant in Belvedere. First car owned was a 69 Belvedere. So that is where the name from !!

Close but no cigar on the Belvidere reference. The car name "Belvedere" began as a Plymouth in 1954. The plant, located in "Belvidere", IL is not that old but was put on line, I believe, around the late '60's.

I lived in Aurora Illinois and I beleive the plant was on line in the late 50's early 60's. However you're correct there's no connection between the plant and the car.
