NormI just bought a red 1999 with ~20,000 miles for a daily driver in Austin, TX. No owner's manual. A couple of questions - what tire pressure do folks run (front and rear)- I saw the placard in the driver's door jam re tire pressure but sometimes experience shows a different inflation works better ----- and, how do I check the transmission fluid? (I'm going to feel really dumb if there is a dip stick in the engine compartment - I didn't even look because the seller told me the Prowler has a transaxle??? Remember - you're never too old to have a happy childhood.
N
idiveTo check your transmission fluid, open the "trunk" and lift up the carpet on the driver's side. There will be a big rubber grommet. Remove that grommet and there is your dipstick. For air pressure I run at either what the door says or a couple lbs. higher. There are some owners manuals for sale around.

ALLEY CATNorm #2 - Welcome to the POA website! I'm sure MDiver answered the tranny question correctly for you. My door jam shows 28psi COLD tire pressure, but I run mine 32 front and 34 back. JMO

Bcoffman Gray GhostNorm, There are a couple 1999 owners manuals on Ebay. Go to the Ebay link on the home page here at prowler online. And when do we get to meet Vera?
tomdenise1A question for you would be, "Are there still run flat tires on the car?".

I would assume a lot of the lesser pressure answers you received are from people with run flats still on the car. I do not have the original tires and run mine 32 in the front and 33-34 in the rear, but I have a much softer tire from Kumho.

Welcome to the site.

JeraneWOwner's manuals should still be available for your year.
JRLI run around 28 ft and 29 rear. Higher pressures only make the Kat ride really rough.
If I go on a trip I'll add a lb.or two.

ed monahanI use different pressuare in all four tires that way I have one inflated correctly for almost any condition.
