^ > Example of what the chrome plastic a-arm covers look like on a 1999 Prowler. Sold 'as is' |
Larry Lord | That picture is my original car. I sure wish my car still shined like that today. The covers are high quality and have held up well over the last 15 years. I consider them the best enhancement I've ever installed on my car. I have my original covers and chrome grill today on my current car. I still get lots of positive comments on them. ------------------ Larry (Cruise Control) Lord Larry@FMBbox.com Products for your Prowler and Trailer: Wonder Bar Stabilizer Bars - Deck Lid Hinge Protectors - Trailer Latch Reinforcement Kits - Upright Trailer Storage Stands - Keyed Alike Chrome Coupler Locksets - Chrome Receiver Locks - Chrome Coupler Locks FMB Truck Outfitters Facebook page FMB Truck Outfitters Online Store This message has been edited by Larry Lord on 08-08-2015 at 10:35 PM |
BeWare | Can you provide some better pictures that are not reflecting any kind of pattern? Interested in close up of blemish and scratch.. |
attyedhall | how would I know if these would fit MY 1999? vin #? |
Larry Lord | Ed, If you a-arms have a clear coat they are the 97-99 year model. If you car is 97-99 they will fit. If your a-arms are rough cast they are the 2000 and up model. Call me if you have any questions. Rich, I will try to get better pictures, but taking pictures of chrome and stainless steel pieces is difficult because they want to reflect either off the ceiling drywall texture, the flash of camera, or the person facing straight on while taking. I'm not a great photographer, I'll admit.

Ed, Larry Lord can probably best answer your question. I do not know the answer. While not in stone yet, I have a pending sale and should know by monday or tuesday at the latest. Stay tuned.
I got these covers from a owner who had a 1999 Prowler, and was going to install them until Chrysler did a Lemon Law Buy Back of their car due to frame crackage. They didn't buy another Prowler after that episode. I've had them for over 12 years, and basically forgot about them. I'm still going through my Prowler stuff, and will have more items coming up for sale as time allows me. Lethia This message has been edited by L. E. CAT 2 on 08-09-2015 at 05:30 PM |
GaryE | It is now time to add to the story. I was working for Tony Carline at the time. One of the things I did was work on the a-arm covers. They are made of plastic and then triple plated chrome. At one time I had them for both a-arm models. It was a very difficult job getting a master made to fit properly. They were also expensive to have chromed plated. About the same price as chrome plating the a-arms themselves. That is the reason I discontinued them and started chroming the a-arms. I still have a collection of the blanks. The one nice thing about them they are a little larger in diameter and look somewhat better. They were attached with silicon. I know the ones I sold to Larry Lord have seen many miles on the road. They held up quite well. I destroyed the molds due to their size and difficulty to store. This takes me back awhile. Never know what might show up. If this set has not been previously installed they would be a great second choice to chroming the a-arms themselves. The price is very low also. Who ever gets they will be lucky to have them. Give me a call with any questions. ------------------

If you don't like them ... I'll buy them off you .. the colour is all wrong for a Purple !! Cant wait to see it |
Dave Haggas | Cheeky! I'm looking forward to getting them on. I'm not looking forward to stripping the front suspension though, again....but I've done it before. If all goes to plan you may see the before and after! |
GaryE | It is not a big deal installing the covers. Use silicone to attach them. The upper a-arm cover will go right on. The lower a-arm will require disconnecting the arm at the ball joint and disconnecting the strut at the a-arm. If you have any questions let me know. It has been a long time since I installed them but I do not think it will be difficult. I will be interested in your comments after you are done. Good luck. ------------------

Dave Haggas | Thank you Gary. The main reason for buying the plastic ones is that Larry Lords have held up well. I've stripped the entire front once before, so its only finding the time. I shall let you know how I get on. I may need four chrome covers from you soon.... |
