This message has been edited by Ken & Roslin Romain on 09-26-2005 at 07:36 PM Thank you for all your efforts and hard work on this, I had a great time saw some old friends and meet some new, also enjoyed spending the day with my new in nov of this year new son-in-law. put about 950 miles on the old cat this weekend, but oh what fun! block-buster ------------------ So, on to the pictures. Unfortunately the only one with a camera was my nanny so the pictures are a little biased. But you will be able to see that I tried to sabotage the other Kats with little finger prints. But, alas, my plan was foiled and a Silver won best Prowler. Anyway, it was a great day in the sun! What is the white canister above the battery by the left shock? I don't have that on mine. This prowler is supercharged. The power steering canister had to be relocated to the front of the AC condensor. You do have this but behind the radiator. Later... ------------------ The poster you made for the POA was very nice, need to get a picture posted of it. We had to leave a litle early, so we did not see the awards handed out, but I believe Monte Gillespie won best Prowler, and his is the silver with the hardtop in the picture with xpguy's son. Very nicely detailed and maintained cat, and the award could not have gone to a more well deserved individaual. Larry's new ride was getting quite the attention also. Amazing how much knowledge about old time hotrods is floating around these events, and Larry's car sure brought these guys out. This message has been edited by xpguy on 09-28-2005 at 02:15 PM Thank you very much for taking charge of the Cruise for a Cure this year. You both did a great job with the preferred parking. I sure hope we can get that space again next year. The BBQ after the show was really a nice cap to the day. Great food and great friends! I sure wish Gary Liebl had been able to be at the show this year but I know his treatments have been terribly hard on him. Thanks to Ken's idea of taking a collection, we donated $275.00 in Gary's name to the cancer center. I know he'll be proud and I wish him well in his battle. Ken, It sure was nice to see everyone again. This message has been edited by Larry Lord on 10-02-2005 at 09:44 PM Ken & Roslin Romain What a great day we had, with a great group of friends.
I think we hit 30 car, with Larry Lord's vintage track car, and my wife's 68 Cutlass Conv. Our group took home 2 trophys, Not bad considering there were 3300 cars at the show. I also want to thank all of you who made a special donation in the name of our fellow owner and friend Gary, who we all hope is feeling better. My camera wasn't working, so if anyone has pictures please post them, for all to see what a great time our California group has together. I look forward to see all of at the next get together. Jim S Ken and Roslin, We can't thank you enough for all the work and effort you put into making this event the success it was. We had a great parking area, close to all the action with a nice grass area to relax in, and a really nice layout for the cars. Jim C http://erv.smugmug.com/gallery/837526/18 xpguy Thanks Jim. Hey Orange, check out #117 and 119!!!!!!! Of course my favorite is #250!!!!
Larry Lord Ken and Roz,
I hope I didn't scare Roz too bad with that ride in the roadster back to the fairgrounds to pick up her car.
Monte Gillespie won the well deserved award for the "Best Prowler" and my little track roadster won the award for the "Best Specialty Vehicle"
I didn't forget about Jeremy's shirt and your 5 bucks. I will get it to him when I pick up my custom shirts.
Maybe you should past a link to the shirts to see if anybody else is interested in buying any. They are quality shirts at reasonable prices for sure.
Thanks again for all of your hard work.
