BeWare | TV show on the Discovery Channel. Oklahoma Street Racers. These guys have some wicked fast cars and trucks. THye claim to have the fastest street race cars in the nation. So far nobody has proved them wrong. Here are four of the ten fastest and my favorites.

Gort | The owner of the pickup has more money than all the others combined. He says I don't care if it blows every race I'm going to be the fastest and he is.The GTO claims 2000 hp. |
catfish | street racing is illegal and they glorify it with a tv show. ------------------

SILVRKAT | Sorry, but I have to agree with CATFISH above. I have only watched it twice and won't again. |

It's hard to imagine, that anyone here has never broken any 'traffic laws', or street raced. I'd bet that the local police are notified, and aware of the 'realty TV' filmed racing.

jimsutton | Catfish is right on this show ... |
alrtg | How many "Reality" shows actually have any Reality to them? My guess is that this is all staged with the local law enforcement's cooperation and participation. A script is written then acted out much like any other program developed to entertain and attain ratings success. JMO In addition to being illegal, street racing is unwise and unsafe. It may be entertaining to watch but it is more of a Soap Opera than anything else. |
Randy Cobb | I watch |

WAITA minute...remember your post about driving across the desert at 100 mph? What's the difference. Wouldn't you go to jail if you had been stopped? Why are these guys jerks for driving fast on a road that's blocked before they even get started? Both are illegal. Why would anyone want a performance car if you are never going to go over 75mph? Maybe we need Jimmy Carter back in and have the 80mph speedometers and cut the hp down by 70%. Come on Cat you've done the same thing, and so have I,we just didn't have a TV show. Do you really believe the police are not in on the show? If they crashed and hurt someone or killed someone the network would be sued just like the drivers. The network would never take on the liability. This message has been edited by Gort on 08-01-2014 at 05:05 PM |

Exactly right on the money. The whole thing is staged. If it wasn't the cops would shut them down. The place where they race for position in the top ten list is the same every week. There is no way they could keep it a secret especially after it is aired on TV. And they start every show with this statement. Just because we are dumb a$$es doesn't mean you should be too. So don't do this at home. |

Exactly. These cars have 2000 hp. The likelyhood of having a crash is high. They tell the owners location and signs showing their names on garages. No way this is a secret. This message has been edited by Gort on 08-01-2014 at 05:10 PM |
1of1576 | I read an article by "Big Chief". He "eluded" to the fact that the local law is involved. Look closely, and you can see rented generator powered lights running up/down whole street, with a hundred+ people around watching. They get permits, etc..... much like a movie production company would do to shut down a street in any town for car stunts/crashes. I still watch though, at least the cars are real!!! Andy |
Drew | Right on,.. it seems to be the way of the world for reality tv, they are selling miracle tonic. quote: Originally posted by alrtg: How many "Reality" shows actually have any Reality to them?My guess is that this is all staged with the local law enforcement's cooperation and participation. Lexxor | It's all set up about 30 miles south of the city. Local town cops block of the highway and they start after sunset. A local tv station tried to shoot video of the races and how the highway was blocked off but the local podunk cops threatened to arrest them if they didn't leave. Said they were a safety hazard. Local cops got in trouble when the highway patrol found out they were blocking off a state highway. Now there racing on county roads. It's all bogus. Typical reality show. The cars are for real though. Very fast. |
