I posted a thread about run flats. This is about non run flat options.

My tire dealer has given me three options:

Continental Extreme Contact DWS06. Not crazy about asymmetrical trad pattern, but can live with it. $1,098.58 all inclusive.

Toyo Proxes 4+ for the front and Toyo Proxes STII for the rear. $700.64

Nitto produces a matching set. Nitto NT555 G2 $998.61

Price matters, but quality/safety/ride is more important. But that said, I drive my prowler very little.

You comments are welcome

Randy,
I have the Fauklins that were suggested on this site, and I am very pleased.
Tremendous difference in the ride from the run flats.

Hi
i have Pirelli Po Rosso matching tyres a little expensive but they do fit them to high performance cars and they look good.

Randy - I had Continental Extreme Contact tires on my Camaro and the ride was good, traction in the rain was way better than the car's original tires and tread ware was outstanding.

Marty:

Same asymmetrical tread design on your Camaro as those on the ones that fit the Prowler?

I'm not saying I am a tire guy at all but we replaced our original run flats with the Fauklins and couldn't be happier. Way better ride, grip, handling and we even drove through the 1st hurricane that went up the east coast last summer pulling a trailer and never had a problem with hydro-planeing once although the marble size hail had us running for a bridge. 😊 My thoughts are any tire use choose will be way better and safer than the original run flats.

Disclosure: I now keep a can of runflat and/or a mini compressor with tools and a tire plug kit just in case. Hope you enjoy whatever tires you purchase.

I also put the Falkins on my Kat. Excellent ride and good looking tread. I also keep a mini compressor and plug kit in the trunk. Both front and rear Prowler tire sizes are no longer available. But if you call Discount Tire Direct they may be able to find you a matched set somewhere. The price I paid 3 years ago was like $550 total.

I purchased the Nitto's from Discount Tire and am very happy with the ride and the matching tread. They were quite a bit less money landed at my address, but had to pay to mount. Total installed substantially less than your dealer quote. (assuming it was the same model tire)

Hi Randy. I purchased Toyo's and also am very happy. Softer ride, grip is great and I think the tread looks great. Look through this post and you will see the pictures I posted of the tread after install on the car http://www.prowleronline.com/ubb/Forum8/HTML/000022.html

Michelin Super Pilot Sports. to get a matching set front is correct size, rear is correct height but 1 and 1/4 more narrow.
If want a matching set you can go 305s in the rear but it might rub. I think 305s look way to wide but that's me.

Original equipment Porsche, Z06,Ferrari.

Agree the pattern on the Continental looks a little goofy but I like the tire and once they have been on the car for a bit you don't even pay attention. Just one more thing to draw attention to your car in my opinion. Rare car, weird looking tires.

My most trusted shop doesn't carry the Nitto's or Falken. They recommended the Continentals

$713.00 for the rear
$348.00 for the front

$1061.00

I put the Continentals on mine 2 years ago and I love them. Ride is very good and I personally like the pattern of the tread. I think I paid around $700 at Discount Tire plus mount & balance back then. Jer
