I'm going use this thread to collect information on our fellow Prowler Owners (and/or spouse) that have passed away. I'll use the search function and post the 1st notice from the archives.

If I miss someone or if you know of someone else not listed feel free to add. I'm grateful to have met some of these folks at Prowler events over the last 10 years. In some cases, the name of the deceased was not listed.

Just a couple of weeks ago I found out one of my old friends from my neighborhood was purchasing the new Mullholland at our local dealer...I invited him and his wife to the Indy Kat event...they couldn't make it, too busy that weekend...and they didn't get to pick up their Kat till the last week of May....the car was sort of a gift to themselves, believing in the philosophy that you should have fun while you can...well, they were right, just didn't start early enough I guess....his wife passed away today from complications from a heart attack last Friday...she was in her early 50's....just goes to show...have fun every day and enjoy all around you...you never know when your last trip in your Kat might be...something else that bothers me from time to time...do you ever stop to think that many of our Prowlers may be around for a couple hundred years after we are,as collectable as they are, they will no doubt crowd museums at a point in time....it's almose eerie to think my cars(Vipers/Prowlers/Vettes) will probably out live me and maybe my children etc. by a very long time....many will be used up destroyed etc. but many will still be stored away, possibly till the end of time....

A close friend and fellow Prowler died yesterday. Mike Giraud died un-expendantly. He purchased his Prowler two days before I picked up mine, giving us a great bond to our frienship. Mike visited the site on many ocassions, but never signed up. He recently won his first trophy with his "Yellow Kat" and was proud of it. He will be missed. Please keep his family in your prayers . . .

It is with great sorrow that I announce that one of our fellow Prowler Owners Brian King aka "Silver Fox" passed away yesterday evening after a long brave battle with cancer. Brian was very instrumental in uniting the Prowler Owners in the Greater Toronto Area. He also was the driving force in the preparation and organization of our two successful Canadian events. He will be deeply missed by all his friends.
Funeral arrangements are still being made but in honor of Brian and his love of the Kats, we are planning a procession of Prowlers for the funeral. In more recent visits with Brian, we discussed this procession and he was in favor of it. Anyone interested in attending can PM or email me for further details.

I hope you share my sympathy with his wife Elena during this difficult time.

Joseph Brandsasse passed away from lung cancer Friday. He attended the Smokies Event as well as Canada, The Dells, St. Louis and was all set for Louisville. He and wife Marla Little loved their purple Prowler and attended alot of local shows. Joe retired May 4th last year (in what we all thought was good health) after working 39 years at Bristol-Myers Squibb as a semi truck driver. I know alot of POA members knew Joe.

This is from the obit in the paper. Hopes it helps anyone who knew him. Ed. Yes...Joe was a big man and never knew a stranger. Very friendly.

Doris Angle

I received a call this morning informing me that Doris Angle passed away last night.
Jim and Doris Angle enjoyed their Prowler and became a very important part of our Prowler family. A couple that relished the opportunity to share the open road with Prowler owners from coast to coast.
It is with great sadness that I am informing you that on Friday, April 6, 2007, Doris passed away. She endured many trials with complications following several strokes and re-occurring cancer.
Jim and Doris were the first local Prowler owners I met in person back in 1999. We have had some wonderful times and great memories together.

Life is a journey and on that journey we meet people with gusto and passion that serves and provides us the desire to embrace every moment. Jim and Doris are two of these people. We have had the privilege of having them join us for many events and road trips over the years. We've traveled miles and miles just for the fun of it.
Doris was blessed to have such a wonderful husband as Jim and a large and loving family. Doris will be greatly missed not only by her family and friends but also by her Prowler family.
Jim wants each of you to know that Doris truly loved and enjoyed the company of her Prowler family.

I meet Barry after I had bought my Prowler and he informed me of the POA and the NW Prowlers Club get togethers. He was aways helpful and cheerful. He owned a 99 black with custom chrome front suspension. His son Denver took over the business when he was diagnosed with the disease. May he Rest in Peace.

It is with an extremely heavy heart and a painful sadness that I have to report that Pete Munson (Indy96), a Marine Veteran and dedicated member of the East Coast Posse, passed away earlier this morning. He was a great friend and a very active member. He was always a part of everything we did. Pete is everything the POA Family and the East Coast Posse truly represents, he will be severely missed. We have lost a great brother.

I will post more information after MaryAnn (his wife), makes the arrangements.
My heart and prayers go out to MaryAnn and his parents and the rest of his family.

It is with a very heavy heart that I have to post that Phil Genet passed away tonight at 7:30 p.m. after a very long and courageous battle with his cancer. I'd posted earlier to keep him in your thoughts and prayers as Dave Genet had informed us that he was not doing well.
Our condolences to Phil's entire family. He will be sorely missed. Phil was a wonderful, generous and kind man and a good friend to many of us.

A number of us were able to talk with him by phone while we were at the Tulsa event and he was his usual chipper self. Dave said that he was very excited to have been able to talk to his Prowler friends. His hope was to make Woodward with his son. He will still be there in spirit and he would want us to remember him with smiles.

Some time ago, Phil sent me a link to his blog site, which chronicles his journey and battle with his cancer. He was a very courageous man who did not give up. Here is the link if you are interested in knowing more about this wonderful person..

Dear Tammy and all the prowler family,
My husband Leonard passed away on August 23, 2009 after a terrible, painful battle with oral cancer. He was diagnosed in April of 08 and we were told it was curable. Surgery was out of the question as he had a mild heart attack in January, 08 and they had to put a stent in and his cardiologist would not allow surgery. He had 7 weeks of intense radiation in July 08 and we thought that it worked. Only to find out 6 weeks later that all his good tissue was destroyed in his mouth but it didn’t touch the cancer. He then went through an 11 hour surgery at the University of MD at the end of October but was told he had a 30 percent chance of surviving 2 years. Had massive chemo in April of 09 and it too did nothing to the cancer but killed his kidneys. I took care of him 24/7 and we were constantly going to the ER or him being admitted. Finally, he was so much in pain that his oncologist suggested to put him in hospice. We chose the Dove House in Westminster and he only made it four days before he passed. I’ve been told that if you pass away on a Sunday, you have a straight ticket to heaven. I know that is where he is waiting for me. It has been a horrible year and a half and I miss him deeply. If anyone would like to send a donation in his name please tell them to send it to the Dove House. I will be working on and participating in Relay For Life next May and if any of the Prowler Posse would like to come in Lens honor or give a donation it would be greatly appreciated. He loved his prowler so much and we were so looking forward to traveling more with all of you. I just wanted to let you know. Peace and good health be with you all.

Take care all, Denise Yagatich

To the many friends and acquaintances that couldn't or didn't know of his passing on, we are cordially invited to attend a memorial gathering in his honor. Please join his friends and family this Saturday at 3:00 at the Hard Rock Cafe at Bayou Place. This is at the corner of Smith and Texas downtown Houston. Phone # 713-227-1392.
This is a casual gathering as he would have liked.

Thank you, hope to see you there..
