It had been a while since I looked inside my coolant overflow container. Unscrewed cap and looked inside to see pretty much NOTHING! NOT GOOD!! A lot of ghastly looking debris on interior walls as well. SO........ Tools need to remove: 10 and 13 mill sockets and pliers for hose clamps. Also a large rag as well to soak up any old coolant when removing hoses. Couple of wire ties as well to keep both hoses out of the way and stop dripping coolant. (13 mill socket is for one nut on black rod, everything else 10 mill)

Once container was out, over to hose with spray nozzle. Blasted inside and watched all the barfy debris come out. Cleaned container like new and installed. Hooked everything back up and filled with anti-freeze to line on bottle. NOTE: Put a small amount in at first and wait a couple of minutes to make sure there was no drips from bottom hose. You can reach under container and feel the hose and clamp.

Don't trust the visual from the outside. You really can't see what's in the container until you take the cap off.(remove only when cold) And even then you can't see that well regarding actual level.

When I had it off I should have taken a measuring cup and filled to the line with water. That way there wouldn't be any guess as to where level is in container. I would have used the measuring cup to fill it as well. Once everything was secure time for a ride. All's well!!

I take a flashlight and hold it up to the side of the overflow tank and that works pretty good.

I put this up realizing it's a some what of a simple topic. The coolant bottle is easy to overlook. I had found the insides had gotten discolored so just glancing at it from the outside didn't give me a good impression of what was on the inside! There is also a divider wall inside that I also found hinders seeing proper level. Since air ingested into the engine can cause problems I though it would be a good reminder for everyone to check as my bottle for the most part was almost empty. And thanks padroo! Appreciate the input!!
