when the cat engine is turned off it had a growl sound. i has stopped doing this for about 6 mos. is there any fix? |

It's the de-coupler pulley on alternator that's gone bad. On eBay for $47.88 with free shipping. Only requires a large hex socket to remove. |

What year is your car Don.do you have the de-coupler pulley on alternator . 4868402AA Don can you locate where the growl is coming from?

Alternator de-coupler is fitted to all 2000 and up Prowlers. |

Ok Don so you should have the de-coupler pulley. Now can you locate the sound when car running. Drivers side? I would still have it checked at a shop if you purchased it there. How long have you had this alternator. There was a member on here that went through three alternators before getting one that worked. Remans are bad for that. go oem |
