Yet another difference between those damn "Yankees" and us "True Southerners"

Let's set the record straight........When you "barbeque" it involves coating your food with a coating of barbeque sauce and slowly cooking it.

When you put a burger or a steak on the grill "au naturel", you're "grilling"!.... NOT "barbequing"!

JEEEZE!.....Damn Yankees!

You eat bar-b-que.
Grilling is cooking using a grill.

And what is a Japanese Beetle called in the south?
Hint - Same as nickname of the driver of the 88 car.

That would be "June Bug"

(Of course, as a young kid, you needed to swipe one of your mom's canning jars and poke some air holes in the lid to keep them in after catching them)

BTW....Yet ANOTHER difference in North and South....In the Northern states June Bugs are an ugly brown.....

In the South, they're a beautiful emerald green...

The green June beetle (Cotinis nitida), is most common to the southeastern United States.

(Oh yeah.....And EVERY "good 'ol Southern boy" knows that NASCAR's #88 is Dale Earnhart Jr, whose nickname is "Junebug")

BJ - Lighting bugs is what you caught and put into a Mason jar with holes punched into the lid.

Called it a redneck lantern.
