Thank God for the wisdom of our great leaders from US history who wisely decided to elect our President using the "Electoral College" method instead of the "popular" vote...

Below is a terrific explanation of why it is the fairest method and should not be changed to the popular vote method that the liberals like to whine about.
Read the info below and then think about it....Would you REALLY like to have people from New York and California deciding who will be your President year in and year out?

Worth thinking about…

In their infinite wisdom, the United States’ founders created the Electoral College to ensure the STATES were fairly represented. Why should one or two densely populated areas speak for the whole of the nation?

The following list of statistics has been making the rounds on the Internet. It should finally put an end to the argument as to why the Electoral College makes sense.

Do share this. It needs to be widely known and understood.

There are 3,141 counties in the United States.

Trump won 3,084 of them.

Clinton won 57.

There are 62 counties in New York State.

Trump won 46 of them.

Clinton won 16.

And yet, Clinton WON the POPULAR vote by approx. 1.5 million votes.

In the 5 counties that encompass NYC, (Bronx, Brooklyn, Manhattan, Richmond & Queens)Clinton received well over 2 million more votes than Trump. (Clinton won 4 of these counties; Trump won Richmond)

Therefore these 5 counties alone, more than accounted for Clinton winning the popular vote of the entire country.

These 5 counties comprise 319 square miles.

The United States is comprised of 3,797,000 square miles.

When you have a country that encompasses almost 4 million square miles of territory, it would be ludicrous to even suggest that the vote of those who inhabit a mere 319 square miles should DICTATE THE OUTCOME of a national election.

Large, densely populated Democrat cities (NYC, Chicago, LA, etc.) DO NOT and SHOULD NOT speak for the rest of our country!

But that 319 square miles are where the majority of our nation’s problems ferment.

After reading this, I hope that you now understand the importance of the Electoral College!!!!

Well worth the 39 seconds it took to read? Now please pass it on and tell the Libtards to SIT DOWN AND SHUT UP about changing to a "popular vote" election.

Not sure if you fact checked this. Although I agree with the overall view that the Electoral College if there for a reason, I saw a report months ago that said Hillary won 4xx counties and Trump over 2500 counties. I hate it when the left twists numbers and don't think conservatives should either.... 2500 + counties to 400 some odd is good enough to make the point.

From an Associated Press article in Dec 2016:

"The Associated Press finds that Clinton won 487 counties nationwide, compared with 2,626 for President-elect Donald Trump."

Not trying to upset anyone and in fact agree with the point of his post. Also know he was just reposting something he read somewhere but I am tired of propaganda from both sides of the political spectrum twisting the facts. If either side can not make their point with the truth then what is their point really worth....the other side will just attack the facts as being false and discredit their point.

In this case Trump won the majority of the counties by a landslide anyway you count it....why give the libs a chance to discredit it by using wrong facts?

Here are some other facts.

National
Clinton popular vote = 65,844,954
Trump popular vote = 62,979,879
Difference = 2,865,075

California
Clinton popular vote = 8,753,788
Trump popular vote = 4,483,810

Subtract California
Clinton popular vote 57,091,166
Trump popular vote = 58,496,069

Trump won the popular vote in 49 of the 50 states by 1,404,903.

One state should note have the power to swing an election that much. Thank God for the electoral college.

Footnote just two California cities accounted for more than 2 million off Hillary's popular votes

Los Angeles
Clinton popular vote = 2,464,364
Trump popular vote = 769,743
Difference = 1,694,621

San Francisco
