I think some Republicans will get unseated, maybe by other Republicans but there are a lot of guys who didn't stick to party lines. The Dems ALL voted NO but so did some Rep. Some of them have been there way too long. Drain the swamp. Give some new thieves a chance to steal from us. By the way, gas was $2.55 as soon as a hurricane was predicted. It is currently about 2.35 but on the other side of town today it was 2.00 even. We didn't have a hurricane here. I realize the oil industry took a hit but it was raised 4 or 5 days BEFORE Harvey even hit. The gas in the tanks didn't cost them any more but they had the opportunity to gouge us, AGAIN. Our paper today was almost totally dedicated to Trump's problems building the wall. They are saying the cost hasn't even been calculated so it will never fly. YET, they already KNOW that the cost of losses due to ERMA is $ 65 Billion. Who in heck can give an accurate estimate of how much a hurricane damage will be, at this early stage??? |

Another all time high today. USA TODAY had two articles in today's paper. Page 5B Headline. FORGET ALL THAT BAD NEWS: YOUR 401(K) IS DOING GREAT. Turn to the very next page, 6B. ECONOMIC REPORTS STILL REELING FROM HURRICANES I guess that is what you call hedging your bets. |

But Paul Krugman of the NY Times said the markets would tank after the election and never recover. I don't understand. How could he possibly have gotten it wrong? |

Wait a minute, Paul Krugman of the NY Times said this was impossible and that the Dow would crash and never recover after Trump's election. How could this happen? I still don't understand. I's confoosed... |

The media is going to choke on their words or all the bile that is piling up. They report every day and night that "the other shoe is going to drop tomorrow" and then tomorrow gets here and the message is the same. The Russians fixed the election. I would love to know how many folks switched parties or votes due to something they saw online or in the media. I don't think it was a lot. Meanwhile the Dow soars. I think that is a good barometer of how the majority of folks feel about the direction of the country and the long term outlook. |

It reminds me of the weather forecasters with hurricanes (I live in Florida). They have been predicting bad hurricane seasons for years...and nothing. Again and again...nothing. And when one season finally gets good (or bad depending if you want to view it literally), they are all about themselves being right and they keep promising more doom and gloom. I joke with people that whatever the initial track is for the hurricane...that will NOT be where it goes. Guess what ? This method is actually very accurate. Strange but true. We have 4 main TV stations. If you are deciding which day looks the best to play golf, you have to get the best two or three out of four, because they don't usually agree. |
