Last year the a/c and heater was blowing through the defroster no matter which position it was in. I disconnected the battery and then reconnected it. I figured that I had a bad mode door actuator motor. The next problem is that the a/c will not turn off. Runs even in the off position. The other problem that I have is the low tire pressure warning will come on after I have driven my Prowler and made a stop at a store and restarted car to leave. The warning light will go out after about three minutes. The tires are inflated to specs. Anyone have this problem before? Any ideas? |

When you say the AC is in the off position do you mean the fan switch or the button imbedded in the switch which has. Green light. If the light is off the AC should be off. That bottom actually turns the -AC on and off. Just checking. |

You will have to have your TPMS sensors scanned at each wheel to see if one of them is bad. How old are the sensors? If they are original I would recommend replacing them all. Any sensor that is 20 years old lived long past it's expected lifetime. |

I read the link that Robin posted. I'll try cleaning the BCM connections and see what happens. I replaced the battery this spring. It wouldn't hold a charge, besides it was nine years old. |

Food for thought.... IF you happen to have the Defroster running, it will cycle the A/C Compressor. This is designed to keep things lubricated during the winter when the Air Conditioner is typically not in use. |

Sorry that I haven't replied. We had a family emergency and everything came to a halt. Things are starting to get back to normal and I can work on the Prowler. |

I worked on the Prowler today. I removed the BCM and cleaned all the contacts with electronic cleaner. Then I applied dielectric grease to all the connections. Re-installed BCM and connected the battery. Started the car and after 5 seconds the mode door slammed shut again and sent the air through the defroster vents. That's why my a/c is on all the time. The Prowler thinks it's in defroster mode (when it isn't) so the a/c comes on. I then tried Robin's suggestion. I put the fan on high and disconnected the battery and waited a few minutes before connecting the battery back up. I restarted the car and the air was still blowing through the defroster vents. After about 5 seconds it switched to the dash vents where I had the dial set and the a/c shut off. That lasted about 20 seconds when the mode door slammed shut again and after a few seconds the a/c turned on. I did this procedure three more times with the same result. I guess the mode door actuator motor is going to have to be replaced. Thanks to all for your suggestions. |

Hang on there...1999 If you read Dano's post his was doing the same thing. He replaced his BCM and everything went back to normal. It appears the door is working but is not receiving the right commands from the BCM Body Control Module. I would try to have BCM replaced as the actuator door replacement is a lot of money labor intensive. shoot Dano a PM keep us in the loop. |

As for your low tire light and module. Most of the cars have be changed due to age of the sensor in the tire. At one point you could switch the early years to the 2002 system. But they are discontinued as of now. So choices are . 1 unplug the light bulb . 2 unplug the control box under the top dash as seen in the link provided thanks LOWONCASH and Kevin A ( black box with blue plug) TP control box

I'll try the BCM first. Its not that hard to take out. I hate to have my dash tore apart at the dealership. I'll try the local MOPAR dealers to see if they can get me a BCM. I'll let you know how I make out. I won't be able to do anything until the end of next week. |

I completely agree with Robin. Mode door activator is working correctly. But, it's getting a false signal from BCM. You can also have BCM repaired at United Radio. One of our members, Spoons, used them with good results. Compare their price with dealer pricing. |

Today I got a "new" BCM and installed it. The mode door actuator now works like its supposed to. Yeah. Thanks Robin and Dano for your help. It was greatly appreciated. I ordered the BCM from Artioli Dodge in Enfield, CT. Mark DeGray is the parts specialist. Thanks again to Robin and Dano. |
