Has any one out there contacted RP regarding Glen's offer to install their ball joints?

We NEED to get this rolling, like NOW! There's been a significant amount of effort to get this accomplished and if no one's going to step up and Rare Parts decides it's not worth their time then we will have no one to blame except us.

WE NEED AN INSTALL!!! Glen has been more than generous by refunding your money back for the ball joint costs. All they want is some detailed pic's of the install.

I have placed a call to a good friend of mine who lives in the Stockton Area. Most members know Bengie with the Prowler called the SIVER BULLET, known for its color changing paintwork. Bengie is willing to let them use his car for the fitting & testing of the ball joint as long as the car is kept covered & kept inside. I have Private messaged his phone number to you and you can contact him for setting this up

Have none of these offers panned out.
When we think people have stepped up and then don't hear anything we are in a suspended state waiting for word.
I have set up for a lower Arm to be sent to Rare Parts.
So they could at least check the fitment. But that went south.
I only found out about that a week ago.

Communication is key but that is getting lost in this effort.

Sorry CAT-A-TONIC I hope someone can get this done.

It is summer I feel maybe people that are good to roll right now are to afraid to have there cars put out of service for fear of a Misfit ball joint. very understandable.
I have 2 months of driving weather here.
September I will do it if still needed.

I have a spare set of control arms.. if needed I can take these up to them and at least change the ball joints.

Since I have a chrome front end, and the joints are good I hate to mess with them. Plus we have a trip up the coast to Oregon coming up in a few weeks with the car I don’t want to jeopardize.

OK everyone. Thanks...wasn't trying to come across in a harsh manor. Just don't want this to slip away from us. RP doesn't get some activity on this they could very well conclude that it's not worth their time. And we all know how this goes. RP decides not to make these available for us and two months from now this site will be the subject of Prowler owners looking for ball joints.

I see several posts about the Ball Joint.

So I am kinda of lost. My understanding was that they are looking for someone to install a set, Correct?

What do they need us to do?

I will communicate with Glen and find out if he's talked with anyone on this and find out where we stand. It appears that some have sent him a message, so at least that's moving towards something.

Here is Glens answer to Ball Joints.......

Hi Mike,

Well, our main ball joint has been delayed on coming in, I asked our special orders dept to expedite it and I just received a few emails the other day from a few gentleman interested in doing the install. The first did not respond when I told him what we expect in exchange for the ball joints and I will be replying to the second by this afternoon.

So a few hurdles to overcome and we will be on our way. Once the ball joints arrive they will go into the machine shop for work and we will be good. It is looking like we will be able to keep them down @ $89.95 per ball joint.

I am changing my screen name to AVIS as apparently I was No. 2. lol
I got an email from Glen this afternoon but I just got online a little while ago. I sent him the info he needed so the ball should be rolling soon, I hope. I gave him my credit card info so when they receive the parts and make a few adjustments, he will be shipping them to me. I will go Monday to make arrangements to have them installed by a retired Prowler Tech. If he cannot do it, I will find someone to do it.
More info as I get it.
Thanks Cat a Tonic

Ed.....looks like you will be getting the ball joints per Glen. I have not seen a pic of these and will be interested to see how they differ from the originals. I know from talking with Glen that they will have a castle nut and not the plastic black crush washer like the originals. I had recommended that a hardened washer be included as well so we wouldn't be tightening the steel castle nut into the aluminum steering knuckle. He has my card number as well for purchase when available. So thanks for stepping up on this.

I went to see the Prowler tech in person. He is all gung-ho about it. He said Chrysler ball joints are notoriously bad. The Jeep Liberties were coming in on wreckers a lot. He still has his Prowler tool kit. He said his Prowler Tech Cert. is the ONLY one he ever hung on his wall.
He is all in for taking the pictures, etc. I have high hopes. He said the chrome front end might make it take a little longer so I think I will have him do the '97 instead of the Candy FIRST. I will definitely get the
Candy done also.
I asked "what do we do if it doesn't fit correctly"? He said he would have to put the old one back in until it is correct.
Hopefully it will be moving forward in the next 10 days as we are heading to Fla. for a week to visit with some Prowler trash outcasts. lol

Jim, thanks but we are flying and won't be anywhere near you. When we drive down in Dec. or Jan. we will attempt to time it properly. See you in TN.

That's dynamite ED!! Rare Parts had samples of our original ball joints to take all the crucial measurements they needed. There were plenty of front suspension pic's as well. I can't imagine what fitment problems that might pop up. There's only one item that might need attention before the install. The original ball joints had a coating on them to stop any corrosion between the steel ball joint housing and the aluminum arm and knuckle. So a coating of anti seize compound would probably be in order during the install. Other than that there hasn't been anything that Glen has said that might indicate anything other than a proper install. Hopefully you'll be hearing from him very soon.

I have email Glenn on the ball joints and here is what he said, Good morning Jon,

I apologize that we have been playing tag. One of the forum members has contacted me and we are lined up to get him a pair of ball joints for test fitting as soon as possible. Once we get his feedback and some images we will get the ball rolling on production. I have received some other emails of members looking for the ball joints as well.

If you would like to email me your shipping address, phone number, credit card, expirtation, and billing address, I can go ahead and write an order up for you so we can ship as soon as released.

Thank you again for your interest,

I have sent a request message to Rare Parts to find out if there's a hold up. I think ED would have let us know if he received the ball joints. Hang tight until I get something from them.

Just thought you all might like to know, I just copied-and-pasted this from The Prowler Store's Facebook page..from July 25. NOT trying to stir things up, just thought this was a little too coincidential...

The Prowler Store
July 25 ·
For all the concerned parties, your #Prowler #balljoint issues will soon be over. We've contracted, produced, test fit and have a brand new Plymouth/Chrysler Prowler Ball Joint already in production. They'll be more cost effective, not to mention better than the recall ball joint. With a redesigned boot, grease fitting, plus made right here in the USA. Stay tuned and we'll update everyone as soon as the production run is over. All of the parts are in heat treat. As soon as that is finished it will be on to assembly and we'll have them up for sale again!
