This was from someone that posted on our Facebook page "Hello i worked in the factory that built the tubs, WE used "hem rods" to attach the parts together i put U.S coins in some of these ! In the rear trunk area, on floor closest to back bumper , Where the seam to the floor an back panel meet ! Ever heard of anybody finding a coin hem robbed in there ? ever look??? you can see the coin as plain as day !! because the head of the hem rod is only maybe the size of a pensile eracer, AN i used quarters, dimes, nickles i did this to so many cars i wish i had all that change back LOL Every day after lunch LOL" |

Very interesting, I never heard of "Hem Rods". My welding experience is with steel. |

According to the source, they used "henrobs", a type of self piercing rivets in the body tub. They shouldn't be confused with hemorrhoids. |
