Hi Marty, Great Britain calling! My troubles were the car started fine drove fine but at first it had a little dip whilst driving. As though one had turned the key off and on again quickly. As the months went on the same thing continued but was very erratic. Sometimes it was great other times it would happen. Three years later at its worst it would switch off and you would coast to a stop. Turn the key and it would fire up fine and be good for sometimes another 100 miles. We checked on diagnostics and nothing showed but one oxygen sensor was not working to its parameters. Ed M sent me 4 new replacement sensors. We fitted them and the problem of cutting out was twice as bad. It kept cutting out even whilst ticking over. Plugged it back in diagnostics and Bing, a code came up. It was the crank sensor code. Dear Ed M sent a crank sensor. I fitted it and the car has not skipped a beat since. Thanks to all on this site and especially Ed for you patience and help. |

quote: George - work has been ultra stressful the last 45 days and I leave today for back to back conventions that represent about 75% of the yearly revenue my accounts produce but driving Buddy's truck and trailer and getting my Prowler back to San Antonio was somehow very calming. While I am working out of town I will be researching and deciding what mods to start with! |

Marty...had a problem with the same symptoms and it ended up as the PCM after we had changed all the sensors. Now with mine it was the pcm for the Paxton Supercharger which Bob Longstreth helped diagnose and set up a dealer to handle the issue. Bob is one of the best assets the Prowler group has! Not sure if yours is supercharged or not but would think the similar issues may indicate pcm issues. Hope you get resolved quickly...I know I was off the road for over a year trying to figure it out until Bob came to the rescue...good luck. |

I had a problem similar to Marty's, and had my dealer check it, but nothing came up. The problem as seemed to have resolved on its own, but as Dave noted, it may be erratic, and could return. If you do discover the cause, Marty, please let us know for the record. |

Marty, are you getting any answers? At least you can look forward to driving it since you are in a warm climate. If you were still in Louisville the season would be about over. Hopefully it will be something simple. |

Shop says engine stuttering is the TCM....Originally they says ECU....now have an ECU and a TCM will be here Friday. Bigger concern is getting the AC working....compressor is good, just need to get a belt on to spin but am missing Paxton bracket, pulleys, and tensioner and no one has been able to source one. Have a custom motor cycle builder in New York who says e can fabricate one if he has one to use a sample but no luck getting one for that purpose either. Meantime updating the suspension front and rear making some "Marty" cosmetic changes.....new round headlight, larger chrome tach, removing rear bumpers, customizing the steering wheel, changing shifter to lighted flame ball, ordered Sweet Thunder mufflers, etc. This message has been edited by Marty Usher on 10-25-2017 at 09:31 PM |

Can anyone post a photo of what you need? That would be a start to finding the parts. Dick has catalogs of stuff I have never seen before and I am sure they weren't custom made, they used something they could get from a supplier. |

Marty have you thought about contacting Laddie? He may be able to help in getting you the parts to send in for fabrication. Didn't he have a Paxton? Tami |

The cutting out and hard to start when hot issue was a combination of a ground in the wiring harness not being firmly grounded plus the TCM was toast. Just got the car back Friday and put over 200 miles on it so far.....so much fun to back in a Prowler again! |

There are still a number of things that need attention but most of them are part of the fun of owning a Prowler again. New head unit and door speakers went in today....will need to figure out all the settings on the new radio but at least the Bluetooth function for the phone is working. |
