Felt like sharing…
Saturday, lunch time… At a local WAWA, Finished gassing up and have the Prowler parked at the end space while enjoying an awful WAWA hot dog and ice tea.
Pulling in next to me is a 30’ something couple in an 90’ something Honda Accord with 50% of the paint missing due to peeling. As the woman gets out of the car she shouts over the top of the car to her dude on the driver’s side and says… “Look at this ugly car”…. He then yells back… Yah.. they are bad…
As they began to pass me to enter WAWA, I could tell she was just dying to not let it go… She turns back to me and says… Is that your car? I said yes it is…
She then asks… What would possess you to have such an ugly car?

My response: Since we are on the subject of ugly, maybe a better question is for you to ask your boyfriend why he choose you… and (Now looking at both of them) Are you both not the couple that drove in with that Honda… The dude grabs her arm and pulls her into WAWA…

Some people…

I guess her parents never taught her that if you don't have anything nice to say, then don't say anything at all. Great come back though. Sounds like something close to how I would have responded. I'm not very receptive to smart ass comments from anyone.

Good reply Rich, if something like that ever happens to me may I use that classic remark? I usually don't come up with something that clever to say until the offender is long gone. LOL. Jer

We're doing great Rich, went to the 20th Anniversary Event and we're still on the road. We Plan on getting home on the 4th of July. My #1 bucket list item ( driving across the country in my Prowler) is now a reality. Jer

I probably would have responded with something like:

Because I simply couldn't see myself owning a jewel like you are driving.

I probably would have said,,,,,,

"my ugly car is most likely worth one thousand times more than that total piece of sh!t you parked near me...
Believe I'll re-park my car away from the low income, EBT parking section now..."

.

.
And then the fight broke out

I would have simply asked her if the initials F.O. meant anything to her......what a jackwad!

Actually she falls in line as to what the great Bob Lutz said when it came to describing the Prowler."Either you get it, or you don't". SHE.......obviously doesn't. You can bet she's probably one of the people that would drive a Nissan Juke. No big loss. Some people don't like chocolate.

When I saw the post of viperkim I said "On a Viper" really... Seems impossible but there are all types out there... Personally, I don't care if someone dis-likes the prowler as everyone has there own opinion and as we all know 99.9% is an awesome response... It was the very personal insult to my face that made the difference.... Low class is just that...Low class...

Just blow it off Rich. I've had some comments along the same. BUT..they don't over ride or cancel out the times I've had when people pull out their phones and take a clip of the car. Not to mention the amount of times some kid stands up and yells, "LOOK AT THAT CAR"! The Prowler is just plain bitchen!

Could have just asked the guy how he got so lucky. All you have to drive is an ugly car. Looks like he has two ugly things to drive. I would have paid money to see the response to that

I've run into people just like those two. I've found that for me, it's better to just ignore them.

My Dad told me years ago that it's a proven fact that there are far more Horse's Asses than horses. As I have become older, I have reached the same conclusion.

People tend to say crazy things when they are jealous. They are unable to have it so they do not want you to have it either.

Yes, she was probably jealous that you had such a nice car. People who see my Prowler describe it as one of the most beautiful cars.

Crazy! That simply reeks of jealousy! I recently bought my first '99 Prowler in May '17. It's in the shop getting all gaskets replaced right now but in the first two months I've had her nothing but compliments.

I was getting gas one day and this older teen was riding his bicycle and spotted the car and he almost fell off trying to move over, stop and get a picture. Thanks for sharing though as reading through these forums spreads information so we are better prepared if something like this indeed happens to us when we are simply just out cruising around!

Can you be more specific on what gaskets are getting replaced and why?
