I went to fire up the 97 and the battery was low so I charged it. It still wouldn't start so I used a jumper box to get it going. The lights were flickering, I was hearing a clicking sound and the CHECK GAGE came on. It turned out to be a bad battery. I thought it was a bad ground, at first. I checked the neg. cable to frame connection and it was good. I took the DURACELL battery back to SAM's without a receipt and had my new battery within 15 minutes, no charge. If the battery is low, you can have all of those symptoms. I replaced the neg. cable with a generic one since the clamp at the battery looked to be deteriorating. The frame connection was still perfect after 20 years. |

All the gages seem to be working but the amp gage is reading about 10ish. It usually was reading 13 give or take. So I think it is a bad battery. All connections checked out ok. Will pick one up this week and report back. |
