Tom - When the factory is terminating the edges of a metal panel, they roll the edge for a smooth look and feel. Once you cut the deck lid, how do handle the edges? |

The deck lid is not cut. It is a complete new high quality two piece fiberglass lid. It is opened with a remote entry system like you unlock your doors. This message has been edited by Tom Mills on 10-27-2015 at 05:15 PM |

I am genuinely interested in purchasing one of these. I don't even have a hard top (yet). Tom, did you every determine the weight of this vs. stock? Thanks! [PM sent] |

I haven't determined if it actually weighs more than the original lid but it seems to be a little heavier. I don't see where it would be of any major importance. As far as the spoiler goes I would have to try one to see if there is any way to make it work with this lid. It would fasten to the lid and lay on the "top cover" panel. Might be able to work it out. |

Tom,
I would be interested If the forward section was little bigger so it could support a TGF spoiler. Is there a way to make the trunk open from the rear like a conventional trunk? |

I called Jefferson Automotive a few weeks ago to order some new window regulators, and asked about this project. "Still working on it" was basically the reply I received. Has anybody else heard anything? [The window regulators are now in, and I am thankful that Tom Mills has made the effort to offer these for the Prowler] |

Yes, I am still working on the project. I have the second install about finished and will be installing Number 3 in April and then possibly number 4. Refining and perfecting it as I proceed. The major hold up is that I am back and forth to Florida all winter. I will have my car at the Northern Indiana Event in July if you want to see how it works. I will let you know when I am ready to market them. hopefully in may. |

Situation normal, a few more delays to deal with. I am waiting on the parts for install number 3. I hope to start this one soon. I will take pictures of this one and write some instructions. I will let you know when I have more news |

[QUOTE]Originally posted by Marty Usher: Very nice Tom. For the hardtop people this is a great mod![/QUOTE Dummy me, was thinking on purchasing a hard top and never thought about you had to take it off to open the deck. I am going to wait now on purchasing the top until you put this on the market. Looks great and sure it works well. Thanks |

I have my hardtop now, and was wondering about the easy-open trunk modification. Any further progress? |
