Well = I finally have the last payment on the radar screen. My Prowler is almost paid off (for the second time) and I should have it paid off by late summer next year. I am considering the following options:

1. a second Prowler - low mileage for daily driving replacement and still modify my current Prowler.

2. something new and fun to drive for daily commute - Pontiac Soltice, Mustang convertible, etc.

3. Magnum SRT for daily driving.

4. Keep driving Prowler daily and get late 60's Musclecar.

5. Sell Prowler, use money for downpayment to buy low mileage Viper.

What are your opinions? Keep in mind my Prowler will have about 140,000 - 150,000 miles on it by then and stroker engine will be at about 50 - 60K miles.

By the amount of mileage you have on your kat, tells me you love driving you kat as a daily driver. So # 1 is the best thing for you to do. IMHO

MUsher - buy another cat,,,,,,you'll kill yourself in a Viper, lol.

Rule out the Solstice,,,too many early production problems reported. Mustangs are HOT,,,,or a Honda S2000 for a daily driver = 2 Liter/240hp, 9000rpms, 150mph, and good gas mileage. jmo

Marty,
we had the SAME KIND OF thought last year - I was REALLY leaning towards a VIPER, but upon further considerations we decided to get the 2nd Prowler which is NOW known as 'MissKitty'

ONCE the new Mustang Cobra comes out I'd Loooove to get
one of those but we won't sacrifice a Prowler for that, it's
too nice a car.

Was this helpful....??....probably not, but ya got my 2cents worth anyways

I appreciate hearing other's opinion. Fuel mileage is really not an issue as my employer pays for nearly all my gasoline - limited only when on vacation. The Viper option is on the lower part of the list for a reason - I know I want at least ONE Prowler!! I guess another option could be sell the one I have, buy a daily driver Prowler and get a musclecar or streetrod for a toy? I have plenty of time to think about it and will probably change my mind several times.

What color would I get if I bought a second Prowler????

Interesting question for sure. We paid off our prowler and bought a second one for Annie. Trying to keep up with Dusti and Ms Kitty; our Alabama neighbors.

How happy do think I'll be driving a mainly stock Prowler as a daily driver? I would want to save mod $$$ for the black kat.

Marty,
Well, you probably won't like my option, but here it goes! Keep driving your existing Prowler! When paid off in full, divert the payments into a money market fund or CD. Save up at least 6 to 9 months of hard cash to survive in case of a major life altering event, (job loss, major injury, catastrophic loss, etc). Once you have completed this savings goal, ask us again what to do with the extra disposable income. Why? Well the Feds have increased interest rates at least six times by my count. The 'housing bubble', in my opinion is going to burst. Solid, middle class jobs, are disappearing and being replaced with 'third world' wages. Health care is sky rocketing, with never ending co-pay and deductible increases. Major industries are shipping skilled jobs to third world countries like India and China. I think it would be prudent to have a 'rainy day fund' fully invested in. Plus, you never know when you will need a new roof, septic field, HVAC system, etc. Just my 2 cents!

... Many interesting optionīs

You can get the Solstice with a LS-2 6L engine with 400Hp and more !
To me, the only Car that fits to the Prowler Factory HotRod Stile is a 05/Chevy SSR , or another Prowler....

Or... pre 49 Street Rod .>>>

Well said Quincy, i would make sure my investments are maxed out, kid's education is paid for, have a good chunk of doe saved up in the bank for life's surprises before i would consider buying a toy, never in a million years i take out a loan for a hobby car or any car for that matter, if you can't pay for it, you don't need it.

You only live once. Enjoy it while you can. Some folks work until the day they die, unfortunately they may not realize that ahead of time.
It is great to save, it is great to have a lot of money but when you are laying on your death bed you probably won't be thinking about how much money you have in the bank. If you get sick and go into a rest home, YOU pay for it until the money runs out and then they do.
You have to strike a happy medium.
One suggestion is to find a younger woman who can keep working while you play golf, drive the Prowler, etc. lol

I would go for option #4. I do like my Prowler, but I have no interest in having more than one. There are so many other interesting cars out there, I would prefer to have a variety. You only go around once in this life you might as well enjoy it....I'm spending my kids inheritance, thay can always sell the toys!

Great advice Ed.....

life is like a bowl of grapes....
when they are first put out, you can pick the fresh, juicy ones to eat first and boy are they ever good !!
but when the bowl of grapes is almost gone, you choices are limited to the small, half rotten ones that taste funny and are hardly worth eating...
and the store has run out of grapes...

nobody knows what's around the next corner...

Marty, I agree with Ed (did I say that?) in all respects except for one. Instead of a younger working woman, find yourself a VERY old rich woman and when she kicks the bucket get yourself 1) another Prowler, AND 2) Pontiac Solstice and Mustang ragtop, AND 3) Magnum SRT, AND 4) 60's musclecar, AND 5) BRAND NEW Viper

We'll just call you Anastacio Nikolai Usher

Ed and I are on agreement here,,,,,,younger, working lady is life's bonus plan, lol.

Kendra - I'll only disagree with you slightly. I looked into finding a rich, older gal in Sun City,,,,with no living relatives. It would be fun,,,but,,what if she outlived me?

Marty,I've always liked variety...that't why I just can't see getting another Prowler when there are so many other cars out there I'd also love to own.
If it were me,I'd opt for something you'll really get a kick out of....whatever it may be!
This is just my opinion,of course.
I'm truly a Die Hard prowler fan,but can also say the same for the Viper and the Hummer and a few others.

Lots of opinions - one thing I'm pretty sure of is I'll keep Rebecca around. A younger woman would try to have me change all my bad habits and spend less time on prowleronline.com. Besides, it's Reba's business that is growing to the point where I can consider early retirement (ina few years) as a real possibility AND she likes cruising, beer, basketball, football.......

I agree with Ed also. I'll be damn if I am going to leave this world with a ton of money in the bank just so our children can enjoy what we worked so hard for. I am going to enjoy life and what I am working so hard for while I can. I don't want to be on my death bid and saying I wish I had done this or done that. My father died at 49. Retired early after working extremely hard and never got to do much that he enjoyed. He had a two heart attacks, spent four weeks in the hospital and died at the hospital all within two months after he left his job. If we had never financed to buy our Prowler we would have missed out on one of the most life changing experiences of our lives. Yes I'm still having to work at 60 and I don't regret it at all.
