There has been a lot of discussion here about the worth and cost of different extended warranties. I can't believe it but it is almost 3 years since I was lucky enough to get my brand new Kat. I feel like I better make a move on one of the products out there. Have there been any pro's and or con's that anyone might share to help me in this decision? I am at almost 3 years and 10,000 miles. Thanks! ------------------ |

Tom: The DC extended bumper to bumper warranty with $100 deductable was the way I went. If the car is "in service" less than 48 months (date sold) and under 48,000 miles you can elect this option. Considerablly cheaper than $0 deductable. Have used it twice and saved some $5,000 in costs. (torque converter). You will find many opinions on warranties but "normally" the best bet is with OM. Good Luck. Blew Buyou said it! |

Thanks for the info. Has anyone used after market warranties with good or bad results? ------------------ |

Tom I have maxi-care with a $100 deductible. I have used after Market warranties in the past and for the most part they were OK but have encountered some problems Like they no longer exist to having to wait for an ok from them to confirm coverage on a repair. I would stick with DC warranty for the extra cost well worth it. Toys PS Wish you guys could have made it this weekend to New Hampshire. Hopefully some Conn guys will get together before the snow flies. |

Tom - I bought a DC Maxcare extended warranty from Causeway Chrysler in Covington, Louisiana. (I don't know how Katrina affected them) At the time they had had the best pricing on the extended warranties., Nortmally I stay from buying them but due to high cost of some things on the Prowler bought it and it paid for itself several times over - air conditioning, tranny cooler, tranny controller, shocks (twice), and some other items. |
