I got my new gears installed today, and I'm glad to say that JD didn't wear them all the way down, they work great. I questioned how much faster it made the car, then two young guys pulled up to a light in their mustang revving the engine. Boy was it fun, wasn't even close, I toasted them, boy is this car FUN !!

I have been a ProwlerPro gear enthusiast since the year 2000 and have never removed them.

It improved my boost by shifting closer to 3000 rpms on Wide Open Throttle runs.

These gears will get you to the power curve much sooner than the stock ones.

Here is a blast from the past on my install of Prowler Pro Gears.. http://www.prowlerexcitement.com/ProwlerPro/MainPage.htm

Later...

Hard to explain..but I'll try..I don't think the gears (sprockets) make the car any faster..but the car is certainly more fun to drive! JMO

Gears make a car quicker, not faster. Stock gears will give you a better top end.

Will stock gears really give you a faster top end for us? Since we have a governor, doesn't it cut gasoline to the engine at like 125 or something? I mean stock gears I think if you use autostick - you'd still be in 3rd? LOL Potentially sure, but what would reality be?

rpowell, it still shuts off around a little over 125 and you do have to be in overdrive. Light to light this is definitely the first mod that you have to have to get any respect..

I had a 1977 Chrysler Cordoba with a 318. First performance mod was a shorter axle to handle wider tires and 430:1 gear ratio. I could beat stock 383 Challengers butthe motor didn't hold up well, then had to upgrade to a 340 and performance tranny. Gears WORK!

Yep Gears (and a stroker moter) work!! Pulled up behind a 70's Nova that did a burnout pulling away when the light turned green. Then he swithced lanes and as luck would have it the next light turned red. He was rumbling at the light and Rebecca kept saying "don't even think about it". Of course I thought about it! I backed off after the 1st/2nd shift and he wouldn't pass me! Gears work!
