Ok-
Yesterday was a beautiful day in NJ; I figured let's take the Kat for a drive. I made a trip to family in North Jersey (100 mile) short trip; Only to find no one home, Being I use to live in the area, I cruised around town Top Down 95 degrees outside; So I stopped for a iced tea; Being the lot was unusally empty I parked in front of the store to run in and out, When I got out I realized the Nose was 3 to 4 inches over the cement stop. I backed up but the damage was done. I now have a Nose with WHITE RACING STRIPS underneath. I can't believe it. I'm the type always to back in to spots MILES away from anyone or anything; And I'm the one to hurt my Kat. I feel she's wounded. I called the Chrysler Dealership this AM only to find out the front nose facia part #5003071AA is $739.50
(UNPAINTED). Well that was the most EXPENSIVE ICED TEA I ever had.

iI have been lucky, never nosed one yet....

get it painted, or if it is on the bottom, they can't be seen unless you are under the cars anyway...

Most owners can feel your pain. Rather than replace it, especially if it's just on the bottom like most nose scrape - you may want to consider just cleaning it up and spraying it with afternarket paint so the "stripes" are not so noticable.

Welcome to the scraped nose club. Most of us have done it, and still mad about about that "ONE TIME" Brain Fart. OOPS, I didn't mean to imply you had one of those. Just an accident or somebody moved the curb up under you car. Sorry about your skinned nose. Brad

How bad is it? Can the scrape just be wet sanded and buffed? Is it noticeable from the front of the car or do you have to get down on your hands and knees to see it?

If the only way out is to have it replaced then you may want to go through one of our resident POA parts guys. They will give you a much better price than $740

When I purchased my silver 2000 the underside of the nose was painted a flat black rough coat type of paint (like you see on some new cars on the lower edges) I thought that was the way it came from the factory.
Several other Kat owners have since seen it and thought that might be a good fix.

Relax, rejoice.
It's official !
You're one of us.

No one scrapes the chin of the car that's spending it's life sitting in a garage.
It's a badge of honor!

It only happens when you're out there enjoying the car !

After all, what did you buy it for ?

Ed's right............

We've all done it...........it's not a matter of if, but when! Most of the time, you can't see it.

Any kind of "cleaner wax" from your local auto parts store just might make it look like new again. Experience is a painful thing...

The nose is not that hard to take off.
Wait until fall and take it off and get it painted if it is still bothering you.

Having a black car makes it easy to fix with shoe polish, now I have used Ritz Clothing dye on red and purple and works well.

1. Find Dye
2 Clean nose well
3 Mix full box of Dye with 1 cup hot water
4 rub into scrape several times and let dry
5 apply wax

I DON'T KNOW HOW BAD YOU SCRAPED THE NOSE, BUT I HAD ORANGE PAINT HAD SOME MASKING TAPE AND SPRAYED. THEN I PUT CLEAR OVER IT, IF YOU LOOK REAL CLOSE AND GET ON YOUR HANDS AND KNEES YOU CAN SEE MY PAINT JOB, BUT WHY SPEND THE MONEY TO FIX IT. IT WILL PROBABLY HAPPEN AGAIN.BY THE WAY SPADA WHAT COLOR IS YOUR KAT?

I did it also with my son (22) along in the Home Depot parking lot. However, I think the tall willowly blond standing next to a transam in the next parking space also had something to do with it happening... That parking stop just appeared out of nowwhere... but she was hot...
