Can anybody recommend a company providing extended warranties? There are a lot to choose from and I'm sure some are reputable and some are not. Appreciate any help.

Thanks!

Absolutely the Chrysler Service Contract! As a retired Dodge/Chrysler/Jeep dealer, I have them on all my cars and it has paid for itself most times. The peace of mind is worth it as well. It also protects you against the rising cost of parts and labor during the time you own the contract. Also, if you go to sell the car prior to the contract expiration, it gives you one more tool to extract a fair price from the new owner and gives him/her additional comfort in dealing with you. If any questions, feel free to email me. Good luck,

Mike

What is the average cost for the warranty? I have 2001 which is out of warranty and not sure if it is worth spending that money right now to have the extended coverage?

Well here is what I just received today. Any suggestions?
Please respond.

DEAR MR. OWEN, PLEASE BE ADVISED THAT THE WARRANTY FOR YOUR VEHICLE HAS BEEN REJECTED BY DAIMLERCHRYSLER. VEHICLES THAT ARE OLDER THAN 48 MONTHS ARE NOT ELIGIBLE FOR EXTENDED WARRANTYS. SINCE YOUR VEHICLE IS A 1999 MODEL YEAR, IT DOES NOT QUALIFY. I HAVE REFUNDED YOUR CREDIT CARD AND MAILED YOU A COPY OF BOTH SLIPS. I APOLOGIZE FOR ANY CONFUSION. THANK YOU-SUPPORT@CHRYSLERWARRANTYS.COM

Your Prowler may qualify as a "used car" which is a different Extended Warranty however, there are some restrictions. If you need anymore information, email me.

Your policy was probably rejected because all eligible vehicles covered by a minimum 3/36 Basic Warranty are eligible within 48 months of the in-service date and 48,000 miles.

What was your in-service date?

Howard's right. Our Orange had an in-service date of Oct 31st 2001. Bob had to verify that before we could purchase the extension.

Howard, I just purchased the vehicle. I wasn't sure if it was both 4 yrs and 48,000 miles. My service guy made it seem like it was only 48,000 miles. Is there something else I can purchase?

I believe it is worth it, but IT IS NOT BUMPER TO BUMPER (the bumpers are not covered, for instance). Nor are the wheels. Nor is the softtop, or ANY soft item, trim, handles, you get the idea. Not battery, brake rotors, etc.,etc. Yes, the big stuff is covered, but IT IS NOT BUMPER TO BUMPER like the factory 3/36.

My MaxCare has paid for itself several times over, and I do heartily recommend it, but READ THE FINE PRINT so you know exactly what you are getting.

Wheels - $1,300 each - not covered (under any condition)
Rear Rotors - $300 each - not covered (" " ")
Soft Top - $3,000 - not covered
Bumpers - $700 each - not covered
Tires -
Belts and Hoses -
Adjustments -
Body Parts -
Glass and Mirrors -
Battery -
Bulbs -

it looks like those that have 1999 and 1997 are just out of luck for a chrysler warranty -

Is that a fair and accurate statement?

That's it in a nutshell, yes. My 7 year/100K Chrysler warranty expired in March this year. I only used the warranty a few times over the years, but the piece of mind bought by that $1,200.00 was priceless!
