Tuesday was a Prowlin day, so I drove the Kat to work, but my 20 mile cruise home to wind down from a busy day was cut short. As I approached a blind intersection with the green light in my favor, I didn't see the Ford pickup until it was almost too late. A guy had stolen the truck from a gas station 2 blocks away and was running from 2 other cars chasing him. He blew thru the intersection at about 60 mph. I couldn't stop in time, so I floored it. He hit the side of the car right at the back of my door. He hit me so hard that it knocked my left rear wheel with transmission parts and some of the frame still attached to it about 100 yards down the road. There were Prowler parts scattered all over the place. Somehow, the pickup kept on going to run another light. Witnesses say the camera at the first light flashed when he went through it, so maybe they will be able to find him. The good news is that it was my wheel flying down the road and not my head. ( A side note: I will not be at the parade in The Colony unless I can put the Kat on a flatbed and pull it behind my PT Cruiser). I just hurt all over, but I am here to tell you about it and know that in a few days I'll be as good as new (Us old guys are flexible). I had the car towed to my favorite Prowler technician's dealership, and when I went by Wednesday morning to check it out, there was quite a crowd gathered around admiring what was left of the Kat. After Neil, The Prowler Tech, was assured it was really me he was seeing and not my ghost, he asked me what color my new Prowler is going to be. I give credit for being alive to two things: First: God had his hand of protection covering me from any serious harm. Nancy & I pray for each other and our family every morning. YEP!! Prayer works. Many of you know this first hand
I'll be looking for another Prowler in the next few days. This message has been edited by BradleyG on 06-30-2005 at 10:04 PM |

Ouch. I am glad you are OK. It does remind me of what happened to my friend a few years ago. 1 speeding semi, one red light, one miata. You get the picture. I do hope they find that jerk and you get a new kat soon. |

You are correct. God answers prayer and we also pray each morning for us and our families. I sometimes wonder why, but always understand it is in His hands. God Bless you and yours. |

Glad to hear you are ok - replace the prowler as soon as you can. Your avatar looks like you have a hard top, was it on when you were hit, and if so did it stay on? This message has been edited by kat hunter on 06-30-2005 at 08:58 PM |

Glad your OK. Hope you are able to find another Katt if you decide to go that route. If the you can part out some of the non-factory parts, before the insurance company gets it, I would be interested in side panels and possibly others, unless you keep it for your next ride. Hope they catch the guy and again glad to hear your OK. |

Wow, sorry to hear about that but sure glad you are okay. I will bet you will be really sore on Friday or Saturday. Thank goodness you are okay. Another reason to live and enjoy the day. We are all only one drunk driver crossing the yellow line, away from the end. Live it up, drive the car, enjoy life. |

Thank you for all the kind words of encouragement. The hardtop is stored in my guest room closet, so it was not on. Probably would have come off though. The spoiler went almost as far as the tire did. I had the top up (thank goodness). I almost put it down but it was pretty late (after 10:00pm) and I just wanted to get some rest from a 14 hour work day. I don't know if the spoiler hit the top or not when it went flying. Chromer... I never could find the bumpers. They must be stuck into the pickup . You're right, they probably saved my life. FOR SURE I WILL HAVE ANOTHER KAT SOON!!! Here are a couple of pictures . Bradley - glad you are not seriously injured. Who's insurance company pays on a deal like that? Yours, or the owner of the stolen truck. Hope they lock the thief up for 20 years |

A/C, Right now my insurance company , Farmers, is being VERY helpful and will pay. Medical as well as the car. Haven't found the truck or person yet, but the insurance investigator is really motivated to find them. The adjuster told me it would look bad on my policy if they can't find someone else to pay for it. My thoughts are that's why I have insurance and pay that $854.00 a year. I would even help them look for him, but all I saw was his headlights about 3 feet from my head. Man, I am soooo blessed. Be sure to love on your family before you leave the house tomorrow. You just never know. One of my employees reminded me that when we left work Tuesday night, I said "See you in the morning" He said, "Yea, Lord willing". My smart reply was, "I'll be here, even if the the world comes to an end, cause we have too much work to do." Well, the Lord was willing, because we all made it to work on Wednesday. All we have promised is this very moment in time, right now. I usually have a pretty dry sense of humor all the time, but everything keeps on coming out serious the last couple of days. The best to all my great friends here. I like the beer commercial ( and I don't even drink) that says... " I love ya man." So, from my heart, "I love you all." Good night. Got a busy day tomorrow. |

I think it is incredible that the car looks so good overall for the tremendous impact it must have taken. The parts that are damaged are destroyed but most of the car is still pristine. Very impressive, I must say. Again, the most important thing is that you are okay. Get a RED one next. lol |

I know it's a distance from Dallas, but if you can warm up to a Mulholland, there's that 2001 locally that's for sale. With less than 400 miles on it, I'd be glad to see it go to someone who will enjoy it. PM me if you're interested. |
