I recently found and posted an article about a Brand New 1957 Plymouth buried in Time Capsule in Tulsa OK in 57. Here is the link: http://www.prowleronline.com/ubb/Forum8/HTML/008018.html After reading it I thought it may be a good place for a 2007 National Prowler meet. Now after the response I received to an inquiry I made I am even more convinced. I realize this is two years away and while I am not looking for a commitment. I would appreciate everyone responding if they would have any interest at all in coming to a meet in Tulsa in June 2007. I am willing to start laying the ground work on this but not if there is not enough interest. Also anyone willing to help please let me know. Please pass this along to any Prowler owners that don't normally view the Discussion Forum that may be interested. Even if we don't have a national meet I plan on going. Here is the note and sent followed by the response. My Note Mr Boudiette. You can contact me at this email address and also at wareprowler@aol.com Thank You So Much
Thanks so much for writing! Yes, we’re handling the unearthing of the 1957 Plymouth Belvedere. It will happen on June 16, 2007, which is a Saturday. Tentatively, we’re planning on doing some type of parade immediately following the opening of the time capsule, followed by a weekend car show featuring other classic Plymouths and some of their Dodge and Chrysler cousins. We hope the show will feature classic and new cars. We’re in touch with the Plymouth Owners Club too and they’re planning to have their annual meet in Tulsa that year also, to coincide with the unearthing. So yes, we’d love to have your group – that would be great. A side note – back in 1997 or 1998, the city of Tulsa celebrated its centennial and we buried a prototype of the Prowler in a different time capsule! You’ll have to drive by and check out the mound of grass while you’re here. Nothing more exciting than giant lumps in the lawn that have cars underneath! For now, we’d love for you to spread the word with members and begin planning a meet here in Tulsa. We’re assembling the details of the event and will keep you updated as that moves forward. If you need any information about the event, please contact me or Seth Spillman who is copied on this message. Jack Frank also is working on this project as a historian and volunteer so you might hear from any of the three of us. As for lodging and entertainment, please feel free to contact Amy Bruna with the Convention and Visitors Bureau. You may reach her at 918-560-0266 or amybruna@tulsachamber.com. You can also visit their web site at www.visittulsa.com. That’s it for now. Please let me know if you have any questions and we look forward to seeing you in 2007! Sounds like a great idea. Am really curious to see condition after 50 years underground. My guess is Tulsa will have really caught "Plymouth Fever" by the time they open it. Would be fun to be a part of the fever, plus Tulsa is a great city to visit. Lot's going on and great eating/drinking! We're in! |

As best as I can tell 2 years in advance, I'm in. I think establishing a relationship with this Jesse person as well as Amy from the Tulsa CVB would be in our group's best interest. I have served on our local CVB Board for several years. Would you like me to contact her to see what they may have planned at this point? Kevin |
