There was a very nice car show in town today, but it was limited to 1975 and older cars, so we couldn't enter.
We decide to park nearby, so we could look at the cars that were there.
We had lots of interested people asking questions about the Prowler.
So we put the hood up and put the car on display.
Had a great time and was there for about 5 hours. No need Great weather for showing off the Kat, sunny and close to 80 degrees. ------------------ More 'Pumpkin' photos . . . . . More cars and other stuff New pictures in Personal Scrapbook (02/23/03) "The Prowler is not a car to go from Point A to Point B. The Prowler is the Point!" |

Pumpkin, have done that plenty of times. The 25 year old thing is pretty prominent at sponsored car shows if only to limit the number of cars to available parking spaces. Most enthusiasts, bring their rides and park them on the sidelines if they are not allowed to enter. Sometimes the parking lot has a better show and as you say is cheaper! |

Mr. 'Kin, That is one right nice car that you have. What kind of wax are you ah using? That beauty shines so well that it reflects the rest of the show on the side of it. WOW! Mr.'Kin you and Pat really have one fine racing machine. I need to do more to mine and spend less time on all of these other stupid projects. Can't drive a workshop, kitchen or garage! The Old Man |

About half of our local/regional car shows limit the cars to age 1976 and older. I thought it was a slap in the face at first,,,,but later decided its some of the local clubs just want older cars to be judged against each other,,,,and to prevent the import tuner crowd from attending with their loud audio equipment. Someday,,,as older cars disappear, they will want us to be a part of their car shows also. |

I will be attending the Midwest Street Rod Nationals in Springfield, Missouri over Memorial weekend. (NSRA Show) Fred will have a booth there hawking Hot Flash. I won't be able to get the Prowler in the gate, so I guess I will leave it parked at the motel and drive one of Al Carpenter's T Buckets over to the show!! FP |

In 1998, the year I got my Prowler, I went to a car show in Fredrick, Maryland. Before leaving Johnstown I called to see if they would the let the Prowler in. I was told that they would like to have one there. I drove the 120 miles, paid my entrance fee and was denied entrance. To add insult to injury, they were allowing Vipers in. Still waiting for my refund, I can tell you that I will never attend a show in Fredrick again! This message has been edited by Dave Mills on 03-13-2005 at 10:15 AM |

I guess that is one good thing about living in a small town (15,000 pop.). I had just got my Kat out of the bodyshop after having extensive paint work. Still touches of rubbing compound around the edges. I hadn't had time to do any detailing. I knew it wasn't ready to try an entry yet. Local car show (more than 100 entries). Drove out to the show and started looking for a parking space on the street so I could walk inside to look at everyone else's entry. As I drove past the entrance, two guys at the gate jumped up and grabbed the barrier and waved me inside. I still didn't want to enter. They said not to worry about it. Just come on in. Others started waving me this way and that. Next thing I know, I'm parked right in front of the stage. I never did enter my car. Just left it parked there all day with hundreds of folks crowding around asking questions. It was great being treated that way. I'll never know if they would have let me enter the competition or not. But it was a fun day. |

They would have Bill...I've been to that show around the square in my old T Bucket....that show was put together as well as any I have ever attended and I have attended hundreds!! The Chillicothe show is a lot like it...put together well and they would welcome a Prowler...problem is for me, Chillicothe's show is the same weekend as the T Bucket Nationals in Mountain Home, Arkansas....can't make both!! I am a Charter Member of the NTBA and I will have a booth there hawking my Hot Flash. The Prowler will also be leading all of the parades featuring T Buckets from all over the USA plus Japan, Scotland, South Africa, New Zealand! |

Pat, You're right Chillicothe is the same way. I was there last summer. They waved me right inside for that show also. They really have a nice gathering there too. |

IT SHOWS THAT WE DON'T HAVE TO PUT OUR PROWLERS IN A CAR SHOW TO GET THEM ATTENTION. I PUT MY PROWLER IN A CAR SHOW LAST YEAR KNOWN AS THE DUB CAR SHOW AT Mc CORMICK PLACE IN CHICAGO AND EVEN THOUGH AS I FOUND OUT LATER THAT THERE WASN'T A CATEGORY FOR PLYMOUTH, I LET PEOPLE SIT IN MY KAT AND ALSO TAKE PICTURES, THE BEST THING WAS THAT MY SON WON FIRST PLACE WITH HIS CHRYSLER 300 AND WON A 6 FOOT TROPHY AND CASH. |

When I was 18 I was looking for a Corvette to buy. I told my father I wanted to get an old one so that I could take it to cruise nights and car shows. My father, who has owned everything from Prowlers, Vettes, Panteras, Cobras, Ferraris, and many rods said to me, "When you own a vette, everyday is a car show". That statement certainly applies to our Prowlers. When you drive a Prowler, Everyday is a car show !

We even have some local cruise-in nights here that wouldn't let me in with my car.....not enough spaces was the excuse. It was just a cruise-in.........not a car show. Snobs! |

I also have had this problem in a northern town in MI. After I was not allowed to enter, I was told I could park outside the roped off areas. Had a large crowd around the car all day, everyone asked me why I was not inside with the rest of the 50 or so cars. Had a fun time telling the story to the car buffs, they could not believe it. Saved myself 15.00, and at the end of the show when the trophies were handed out to all 50 cars, they still had 20 left over They should have taken my money, and gave me a stuiped trophy, then I would recycle it for the Prowler Pumpkin Run in September. |

I was told by a Mopar enthusiast that the smaller towns are pretty open to the newer cars at the cruises, but none of the shows will let me in. Even on cruise nights here in the big city (Halifax), there are a lot of snobs. Steve says they are fine with his 426 roadrunner and his Cuda but diss'd him hard when he brought up his 440 Duster. They meet at a local Diner and if you take their usual parking spot.... they get very rude. Me thinks I will drop in for some fun when spring finally gets here...some verbal banter may be in order... Ed and I will drop by when he's visiting this summer... |
