...my son is 6'5 and fits, although it is difficult for him to see out the windshield....the windshield frame is in his line of sight.....weight wise.....that could be another problem....I would definately try it on before signing the check.....a 5 hour trip home being 'stuck' in place might not be fun..... ....hope it works out for you.... ...ps...I have also owned Vettes like your 74...I felt they were claustraphobic at best.....the Prowler doesn't feel that way to me..... |

I am 6 feet 3 inches and it is a tight fit. I wish the seat went back a little further, but once I get in the car, press the accelerator and fly pass other cars I forget about being a little cramped. This car absolutely turns heads. |

I would make a plea to someone here on POA that lives somewhat close to you and ask if you can come and sit in their car. I have no idea in which part of TN you live. Only you can decide if you truly fit. |

I'm 6'5 and 240 pounds. Leg room is very tight and it's not very easy to drive with the convertible top closed because I can't scrunch down very far due to the leg room issue, but with the top up or the hard top on it's just fine. I ordered a car in 1996 having only seen them in pictures and without test-fitting it. I joked many times that I'd cut off several inches of each leg if I didn't fit into it... I can't speak to the side to side room for you though, sorry! Dave |

boomboom: I'm a little over 6'4" and weight 245. It is a little hard for me to get in and out with the top up, but I'm fine once I get in. My seat is adjusted all the way back and down and I am snug but comfortable. The have driven 4.5 hours before and I was fine. The 12 gallon gas tank will not let you go very far without stopping for gas and the all important stretch/P break. ------------------ |

You will fit but it will be hard getting in with Top up. You will have to get in head first, wrap your right leg under you and sit down. I drive mine with Top down 90% of the time anyway! ------------------ |

BoomBoom, Dusti is not too terrible far from you, I don't think. He will let you sit in it, maybe even start the engine up. lol. We went thru Union City last summer on the way to the Texas Stampede. There were only about 5 or 6 of us at that point but met up with several others just west of Memphis. I just looked at the map and it might be a couple hundred miles to Dustis. Anyone close to BoomBoom? Paducah, KY area. This message has been edited by ed monahan on 02-01-2005 at 08:40 AM |

I asked a similiar question on the porsche spyder replica club web site 6 months ago. I'm a big guy and I wanted to know if I would fit. One of the posters there (a guy from France) told me to try weight watchers. That was when I decided a Prowler would be the car for me, and POA would be the club I would want to associate with. To hell with those little VW kit cars and the skinny French guys that drive them. |

At the point you get to sit in a car make sure the seat is adjusted all the way to the floor!!! I have seen many owners that have had the car for awhile and did not know how to do it. On the left side of the drivers seat is a rod. 1. On the front of the seat is the adjuster to move the seat forward and back. Move the seat forward a couple of notches from all the way back. 2. Grab the lever on the left side of the seat and push it forward while pushing the front of the seat down then put the lever back in the middle position. 3. While leaning back in the seat move the same lever back and the seat will drop in the rear, then put the lever back in the middle position. 4. Grab the forward/back adjuster on the front of the seat and slide the seat back all the way. You now have the seat adjusted as far to the floor and back as it will go. Also tilting the steering wheel up before you get in and out helps. ------------------ |

You can modify the doors to open wider at very little expense. Thisa might help a lot. |

I'm 6'3" weighing in at 350, and getting into the Prowler is a bit tricky. I have to "dive-in" head first then swinging my legs in, a little awkward, but I can manage. My head is against the soft top, and while on the road when anyone pulls up next to you and starts talking, you will never know who they are, because you can't see towards the side! BUT, once you are in there is room, and face it, you are looking good in a bad-*** Prowler. Once the top is down life becomes better. So enjoy, paci |

quote: I'm not a guy, I'm small (5') and I have two cats. I had a Crossfire for a while and I have to tell you that the Crossfire interior is smaller than the Prowler's. My son (who is 5'6" and less than 200) was very cramped in the Crossfire! I think that the difference is that it is narrower! This message has been edited by CJ on 02-07-2005 at 03:06 PM |
