Do these prowlers come with a 7 year factory drive train warranty? And if so are they transferable? Mine is a '99

the 99 prowler Came with factory 3 year 36k unless the previous owner bought an extended warranty, there is a one time warranty transfer at a cost of $50.00, talk to the last owner about any extended warranty papers if he had an extended warranty he has to sign it over to you.
I have a 2000 that came with an extended 7 year 50K Maximum care and the transfer fee was $50.00 the owner signed it over to me.
Hope this helps

There were 2 different powertrain warranties from Chrysler during the life of the prowler. One was 7/70, the other was 7/100. It was based on the date of original sale. Without researching it completely (I have posted on this before if you wish to search), I know they both occurred after my purchase of a 2000 in June 2000.

3 yr / 36,000 mile bumper-to-bumper

7 yr / 70,000 mile powertrain warranty

I'm not going to get into the definition of "purchased". It probably means the "in-service date", so be careful.

My point is, if you ask about "warranties", it's likely that you're not going to be offered information on the "Powertrain Pledge".

My 97 came with a 3/36. I think the drive train is warranteed for 7/70. And the cats are covered for 8 years. I had the option to take a full 7/70 for added cost. I believe to get the prior owner's extended warranty transferred, he has to be the original owner, AND the transfer MUST take place at the time you purchase it from him.

ID,
Please check your paperwork and let us know. My Internet research only shows 3/36 util the 7/100 "Powertrain Pledge" started in November 2001.

No, the question was "Drivetrain Warranty". Your answer refers to "Extended Warranty". There's a difference.

Were you inquiring about all year's or just the 99 year like you own.

Did you buy your 99 Prowler from the original owner???. Anyway the 3/36 factory warranty is up.

If he was the original owner and got the extended warranty there is a one time transfer from the original owner to a second owner.

If there was an extended warranty and it has already been transferred and recorded with DC to a second owner you have NADA NIL and that includes your drive train and all your nut bolts parts and accessories
so you should probably contact the seller and ask a few Questions

Grrowl - I'll look for where I wrote it down, but I was looking into getting an extended warranty and called the customer care number and asked what they showed to be on my car... (3/36 vs 7/70). They told me I opted for the full 3/36 when I bought, but that the drivetrain was warranteed to 7/70 and that the cats were warranteed to 8/80. I could have gotten the full 7/70 when I bought (for a fee). They didn't refer to that as an extended warranty at the time. I knew my mileage would be kept low and didn't figure on any breakdowns over the first 7 years so I opted for the 3/36. Again, I'll look to see if I can find where I wrote that down, but it's not likely to be until after the holidays.

Found it. Thought I wrote more info than what I found. Something isn't right tho 'cause they told me my 7/70 was up. I paid for the car 12-29-97 and picked it up and did paperwork on 1-5-98. Neither date is 7 years old and I don't have 70K miles. I'll be calling them back and let you know what I find out. I DID write down that the 8/80 was emissions: PCM & cats (not just the cats).
