I agree with Midntrdr. I would call those knock-offs. To me, spinners are the wheels that keep spinning after you stop. Check out:

Though there are several terms out there that are used for more than one product, so it's very likely that "spinners" mean different things to different folks.

I thought a knock off was a cheap knock off of a brand name item!!!
I agree with Tangled Larry, interchangeable back in the day.

If Jim C is correct, spinners were not in existence until about 5 years ago. I guess we were all wrong in the 50's and 60s

Does anyone know whether or not any sets are still available? Sorry I haven't been paying attention to the Prowler site, but we here in Punta Gorda, Florida have other things on our minds. By the way, when I was growing up, the "in" hubcap was an Oldsmobile Fiesta spinner. If I remember correctly, they were from the 1957 Olds.

Way Back then spinners were hubcaps and knock offs held your Knock off wheels on.
My XK 120 & 140, Jags and a lot of British cars MGS, triumphs, Healeys, just to mention a few had knock off wheels.
