Congrats dude. I like the pic of the prowler and pantera in the garage, it's my new desktop wallpaper. You don't need the trailer, just one more thing to clean. I will give you $50 for it.

I always like Panteras. Can you tell us a little more about engine options, colors, and production numbers?

Thanks and enjoy your new purple kat.

Hey can you put "Antique" plates on the Pantera yet? I liked them when they came and out still do. Spare parts hard to find?

Pantera,
I fully agree!!! Nice to see another New England area Cat. You've got some good members down in your state of CT. Very few up in the NH area. At least none that like to come out and play.
Good luck with your new Cat and keep me in mind if you ever get tired of your matching trailer. Very nice!!!

Thanks for all of the kind words...

To answer some questions about the Pantera:
It is a 1971 mid-engined two seat car made in Modena, Italy by De Tomaso. It is powered by a Ford 351 Clevland V8 mated to a ZF 5 speed transaxle. These cars were imported and sold through the Lincoln-Mercury Dealerships from 1971-1974 and cost $10k new. After 1974, production continued, but only a few privately imported cars made it to the U.S. Production finally came to an end in 1995. About 7000 Panteras were made between 1971-1995.

All Panteras came with AC, 4 wheel disc brakes, and 4 wheel independent suspension. My car is a very early European model that was sold new in Italy. It has about 350HP, 0-60mph in 5.5 seconds, 160MPH top speed. And yes, it is registered as an antique!!

Pantera as you will find out here almost all of the prowler wheels pit, blister, & flake. do a search under wheels. don't use any of the spray wheel cleaners on them they will pit more if it gets under the chrome.

Pantera,
Bought my Cat in May of this year with just over 9,000 miles. Toys is right...the inside (inside portion of the rim) flaking of the chrome rims is inherent to many of the Cats out there. For some reason...just my rears are flaking.
Once again good luck and enjoy before the snow hits. Still a little more time to cruise.

that's almost the exact mileage on my car, my wheels had very minor peeling also, but DC replaced mine at no charge last month, even give me a new set of center caps, not bad for a car that's been out of warranty for almost 3 years.

Hey Dooboy
I'm sure you will get a few comments on this, WOW!! were you Lucky that DC owned up and replaced your wheels.

My car was out of factory warranty less than one month and they basically me told me and a lot of other members here Tough $hit this has been a big issue for Prowler owners.
Good Luck with your New TOY.

Congrats! Must be tough to decide which car to take out...

Guaranteed the Prowler will get way more thumbs up. No slam on the Pantera, but I have yet to see a production car freak people out like the Prowler does. But then again, that 351 Cleveland hauls some a$$ huh?

Here we go again....... yet another example of 'pick and choose' warranty replacements on pitting wheels

NOT good

Either they ARE or they aren't..........
