well if everyone waits and don't run up the price on E-bay then someone might get one a good price...but most folks still like to bit now and bid often...... |

You can buy the cover from Covercraft without the logo...it might be less that way. |

I agree, I bought one from Californis Car Cover Company, it is better than the OEM cover for my Pacifica 5 fold.

A Chrysler dealership bought mine on eBay for a customer of theirs for $450. She told me they had bought him a trailer the same way since they couldn't get the stuff anymore. t |

The issue is simple, many people are collecting new Prowler OEM stuff and there is a very limited supply. Would anyone be complaining if the cars were selling for 100k? The tough part is the accessories are harder to come by than the cars. Some days there is a cover maybe 2 some days none but there is usually 20 to 30 cars on eBay not to mention the 150 to 200 on other sites like Autotrader. Lots of car owners, many with lots of expendable income competing for a limited supply of OEM stuff... ET |

It's getting better and better - last week $ 300,- for an OEM cover - this week $ 400,- on eBay !? WTF ?? (and then there are those that complain about a HT being too expensive, right Sam ?!) |

With all the Mods and paint and love for my Prowler( And the fear from Robyn by wife if something happens to the car ) We went and spent 45.00 for a car cover. Works great keeps it clean and fits... I checked out a $400.00 Now I admit I am not the sharpest tool in the shed but the only difference I really saw in the two was the Prowler emblem and the fit was a little better and it came with a cherry sucker....But to each their own ... ie( Who would spend $2100.00 bucks on a parachute. dustin i don't complain about costly items, if i want something, i just buy it, no matter the cost. my complaint is about "greedy" sellers who are trying to take advantage of "alleged friends" if you fall into that category, so be it !!! sam |

Since it came up, I just wanted to take a minute to say a huge heartfelt thanks to guys like Mike Krehel, Larry Lord, Jay Harris, and all of the others whose names I may or may not know, and whose efforts we may or may not be aware of, for making this site and all of the associated benefits (resources, advice, technical help, Prowler events etc.)available to all us Prowler junkies. The very existence of the POA, this site, and all that it encompasses make owning a Prowler even more enjoyable. And improving on the joy of owning a Prowler ain't no easy task A big thumbs up to all you guys. From all of us who benefit from all you do and have done. Thank you. |

Well..... I'm one of those goofballs who paid $400 for the car cover on Ebay! That, in spite of the fact that I have a prefectly good generic cover that I usually use, paid $50 for, and yet I probably wont use the new "Prowler" cover at all. The truth is "I just wanted one". I have been collecting a lot of Prowler stuff. Its part of the fun, and I kick my self when I didnt bid on a Ebay Prowler cover earlier this year for $150 because I thought that was "too much"! If I ever find a red hard top, I might even consider that (if I can afford it). Until someone starts re-producing some of these things, the price wont go anywhere except up and if you want one, you will probably have to pay. Keep it is good shape, enjoy it, use it carefully and it will still be worth something when you part with it. I drive my Kat.... put 4000 miles on it this year so I'm not just buying it as an investment.... I love it, want to take care of it....so I even buy toys for my toy! Real Rod and Larry Lord are probably glade I do! |

Leo's got the right idea If you want somethin' badly enough and you can get it, ya get it. It's that simple. Heck, to cite just one example I just paid nearly $60 for a Prowler CD I probably won't even open just because "I wanted it". Like the proverbial mountain, "it was there". Isn't that what owning these kinds of cars is all about anyway? A little "self indulgence"? Using the same logic as ol' Dusti, it would have been just as easy to say "$45,000 for a Prowler-you gotta be kiddin' me?? Who would waste THAT much on that? A new Volkswagon is 1/2 that and the quality is superb...." But we didn't do that either, did we I'm not pickin' on Dusti to be sure, I'm just agreein' with Leo's point. Somebody paid $650 for an OEM cover, someone else might not be willin' to pay 1/2 that on a good day. That, as they say, is what makes a horse race. It's also happens to be what's made ebay such a huge success LOL. |

I also want to echo the sentiments of "LEO". I'm a little new to the Prowler game, as I've only owned my BEAUTIFUL INCA GOLD PROWLER since August. However since then I've driven it to New Orleans, Toronto, Milwaukee and all over Chicago, where I'm based. I also own a Buick Grand National GNX and a '70 Road Runner (440 six pack). History will definitely repeat itself with the Prowler as I've seen it happen with my other cars. Original factory parts and accessories for the Buick Grand National and Mopar B-Bodies have gone through the roof. My advice to any and all is buy all of this stuff while it is fairly reasonable(?) and available because it won't get no cheaper! If you think the prices are high now, just wait ten years from now when people are fightin' for this stuff at swap meets and on Ebay. I also paid almost $400 bucks for a factory cover and I'm glad I got it. I also bought up collectibles like an original trailer, Prowler phone, CD and other miscellaneous stuff. The Air Grabber hood on my Road Runner is worth about $1500 bucks. That's what I paid for the entire car in the early nineties before musclecar prices went insane. For those who might like to enter car shows, it makes your presentation look better when your car is surrounded by original articles, brochures, toys, accessories, ecetera. For those who sell their Prowler at a later date, offering the car with original factory accessories, toys or parts will definitely sweeten the deal. The prospective buyer will probably kiss you because that means he won't have to scour the globe for Prowler stuff. Factory parts, accessories and toys are only offered or produced for a limited amount of time and after they're discontinued, they can climb in value. Case in point, anybody seen what an original early Mustang pedal car is going for lately? Prices for the Prowler will still drop a little BUT DON'T PANIC!! Eventually they will stabilize and then rise back up. I've seen it happen with my Buick and my Mopar. Not to mention the Hemi Challenger offered to me for $2000 bucks or the Superbird for $5000 bucks and look what those are going for now!! |

Hey Guys so i hear that Norb at TGF hopes to start making prowler hardtops again at the same price's as before or at least reasonable close!!!. (SEE GROUP PURCHASES.) Well boy doesn't that just Blow away the theory that a used hardtop is worth 6 or 7k so if you got one and haven't sold it GOOD LUCK i personally have called everyone i know to inform them that new hardtop's should be available again, and as i already have a hardtop that i bought within the last three weeks for a very reasonable price i hope everyone that wants one will support Norb at TGF and buy a new hardtop instead of buying a used one and getting raped. thats my story and i'm sticking to it. toys |

Toys, Here is Norbs respose from the same thread; Quote:This statement is partially accurate. We will start looking at manufacturing our parts again within 6 - 12 months as I have always stated. But it is misleading in saying if we have enough interest. I never made that statement. We had various reasons why we closed down our aftermarket accessory division and the lack of interest was never one of them. End Quote.... Just how do you interpret this? I suppose the same way you decide what things should cost... Just wondering, how would you feel if you woke up tomorrow and the asking price for every Prowler for sale in the country was no less than 75K??? I suppose you would do the right thing and sell yours for the fair price of 32K. I admire your conviction! ET |
