Well after years of little to no rain fall (3” 2002, 7” 2003), I elected to remove the wiperblades never use them. Wow.. really cleans up the windshield and makes cleaning the windshield easier. I keep the blades on board if needed. I can put them on faster then putting up the top.

Here are before and after shots:

PostalKat - its about time! Don't bother to carry the wipers in the trunk,,,just buy and apply Rain-X to your windshield. Apply another coat every two months. Looks nice!

I see you removed those useless sun visors also,,,,good move,,,clean look.

I have my wipers sins last year off. I have always lots of Rain-X on the windshiled. We had lots of rain this year, but on autobahn speed 70 to 100mp/h its no problem without wipes. The Prowler has a lot cleaner hot rod look without the wipers and I can see a lot better whats going on in front ....

Glad to read we have another convert. That only leaves just over 11550 more sets of Prowler wipers to be removed!

I've had mine opff for almost 2 1/2 years - over 55,000 miles. In our area I put RainX on after each drive in the rain or after each car wash which ever comes first but at least weekly. One hint - two coats of Rain X last considerably longer in the rain.

Holy cow Marty! You took your wipers off over two years ago? And to think all this time I thought your Kat was stock? PS: I use Rain-X too!

Just so you guys know---I make a kit to do this. It has a special bag with separate pouches for each blade and a special tool to remove the hardware and replace it as well as a pouch to hold the hardware when its off the car. The whole thing stores in the trunk of behind the seat. I sell this kit for 100.oo plus 5.oo S&H. I've sold several of these in the 2 months I'v had them avail. They work very well and keep everything in its place, on hand when you need it. Hope this helps, Obi-Wan

Bob - the gas cap lid is still stock!

Oh I just remembered it is stock, but not original. It was replaced when Bob Goetz had the rear fenders filled in where the tailights use to be!

OK - the knob to turn on the headlights is still stock! There - I knew I could find a part just the way it came from the factory!

Sorry, Marty, like the bumpers, my wipers will never come off. Kind of makes me chuckle sometimes.....we all bought these cars because of how beautiful we thought they were, but people keep taking the parts off to make it look different! lol!

My wiper have been off for three years with no problems (glass wax, same as RainX)
Went in for PA state inspection and the dealer "kindly" reinstalled them, then tells me he can't inspect the KAT anyway as my bumpers are missing. Went to my usual mechanic and the state inspection stickers were put on with no problems from him, as usual
It's been raining so much all summer that I just left them on for now, whatever

CJ, If the Prowlers were built without wipers, these same people would be adding some wipers. Go figure...

Rain-X sounds like a good suggestion. I bet it would be even more useful if it actual rained here.

As noted… year before last we only receive 3 inches of rain all year.

CJ, I couldn't agree more. People take the car and change the side panels, paint the bumpers, put on different exhaust and get a hardtop. Then they buy a second prowler and start all over. When will the madness end!!!

Why can't they leave well enough alone!! Thank goodness we are keeping our cars totally stock!!!

I am thinking it may be time for a splinter group of the POA, either TSPOA (Totally Stock Prowler Owners Assoc) or else kick all the others out of the POA and let them start MPOA (Modified Prowler Owners Assoc.)
Thanks for being with me on this point.

I will be leaving my wipers on the car also. I removed the front bumpers, but I think that is as far as I will go. Ed, now I am really confused, but that is nothing new when I read your posts!

After driving through the storms in Texas, the cars without wipers did as well as the cars with wipers. At least, that is what they all said.

CJ - although the car may be beautiful, not all POA people bought the car because of how it looks stock. Even you have chromed the grill, painted the bumpers, and added cool side panels. Supermodels and beautiful actresses get plastic surgery. My point is everybody views their Prowler in their own perspective and what it can be for them. That is one of the greatest things about the cars. From day one I knew the bumpers would be off and I would add round headlights and flames. Chrysler gave us a wonderful canvas and we can create our own masterpiece!

I guess Rich liked my post so much he re-posted it. lol
My post was tongue in cheek, if you haven't figured that out yet.
But my car is stock, even the battery is still original at 5 1/2 years TODAY.
