I am looking for someone in Encino, CA.

I purchase a lower dash for my Prowler on Ebay. The selling company is at 15719 Ventura Blvd Encino, CA 91436.

I was hoping someone could go there and pick it up - assuming it is what they say it is, and ship it to me. The unit is just under $30.00 and they want $50 for shipping.

If you think you could help me out send me an e-mail scott@mcrealty.com or call my cell 772-532-4815.

It's a little out of my way, but if no one on the board is closer to Encino I'd do it to help a fellow POA member. PLease double check if pickup is even available from their office.

Shipping is typically based upon size, weight, where to ship, and packing.

Depending on it's size, it may be a fair price. Also if fairly long and made of plastic, if not properly packed, you may end up with a load of pieces.

Scott,

I ship quite a few parts and my advice is to pay the shipping.

If they wrap it, they are responsible for any damage.
Be sure to pay extra for the insurance or extra packaging if needed.
It's an oversize package so the dimensional rates are higher than the comparative weight based rate. Probably a 30 pound minimum rate.
Nothing is easy in Los Angeles traffic. The person offering to help you will spend over an hour doing so, will then have to package the part, then will have to take it to UPS and stand in line to ship it and then maybe even have to pre-pay the freight.

No offense but you'll be doing yourself a favor to just pay the shipping charges.
