Yes---It comes directly out of my checking Acct or my credit card anyway. I don't understand the play money thing? If i sell something i leave it there then use it for purchases, if thats what your talking about play money? It would make things a lot easier thats for sure. Paypal is the only way to go. ------------------ |

Is the percentage paid higher or lower with PayPal (by the seller) than credit cards? Also, keep in mind if you receive a return via pay pal, you pay the fee too. |

All you have to do now is pick up the phone and give Bob your Credit Card Number. I don't see a need for PayPal. Besides I always enjoy talking with Bob and getting up to date what's going on. |

From what I understand Pay Pal charges a higher fee to the seller than credit card companies and also charges the buyer a fee??? If we accept credit cards what would be the advantage to mess with Pay Pal? |

I am pretty sure that Paypal charges 2.9 % on EVERY transaction once you agree to accept charge cards. You can have a basic Paypal account that costs nothing but you can only use money already in Paypal or give them access to your bank account. If you upgrade to credit card status, every transaction costs 2.9 %, even if it is not a credit card transaction. |

Just do it Bob and Tom! Payments are quick and easy. Many people consider paypal money as play money since they don't actually have to write the check. Don't tell anyone one this but, from one vendor to another, here's the biggest difference, Con,,,the fees are a little higher than credit card fees. I tried the paypal route and it cost me money on my LMC panel project....Bob's prices would have to go up or it would cost him a percentage of the money sent Great for paying but cost the vendor money

OK fees are higher, I do not like the fact of giving up my bank account info and access to anyone on the internet as you never know what may happen. So if accepting Pay Pal will increase sales I am all in, I will however open a new checking account for the Pay Pal access. I will not offer Pay Pal on the web site right away you will still need to phone in your orders and I will e-mail you the link for payment. Give me a couple of days to put it all in place. Thanks to everyone again for your support of Real Rod. Bob ------------------ |

Here is today's scam for Paypal. I don't get these as often as eBay scams but I do get them once in awhile. It looks very official. NEVER GIVE YOUR PASSWORD is the key. I have to agreed with Rich, I've tried using PayPal when buying things and I hate this "you have to have an account with us first" crap. Then they charge the seller and also tell me they won't complete the transaction until I agree to them charging me $9.95 a month for using their dang account... I've quit shopping at any place that only takes PayPal and I buy a ton of computer play toys.. As long as a business will take my credit card directly I use them. My 2 cents.. Oh yeh, in Bob's case I just call him, it's well worth the call. ------------------ This message has been edited by prwlyn on 02-12-2004 at 09:53 AM |
