Thank you Tom S. , and All of you on the Site for your care, concern and support. It is late Monday evening and I just got home from the Hospital. Chuck spent a long time in the recovery room, but was in great spirits when I left him. Doctor was able to do a great job Laproscopically(6 tiny incisions) and this will make Chuck's recovery time and pain alot easier. he will be in the hospital until Thursday or Friday. I am sure he will be touched to see so many well wishes from all of you. Next time there is a cruise, Chuck will be a smaller version of himself in size but not Heart. Again thank you for the support. Any experiences with the Gastric Bypass, tips, stories..will be most appreciated as well. Look forward to seeing Chuck back on here later in the week. Posting this message was a direct order from Big Chuck and I know he will miss you all for the next few days! Love, Mrs. CTProwler,...Barbara |

Barbara: Thanks for the update. Good to know all went well. My advice: Be patient. Both of you. He will need time for his body to heal, eventhough his spirit and enthusiasm want to soar. Consider this an early 'summer vacation'. Take it easy. Take it slow. Hope all remains well. Kevin ------------------ |

Great news, congats to the future ex big guy.--I mentioned this in another post, but since you asked, my friend was grossly overweight and had developed diabetes and had already had bypass surgery.I thought it was 5 months, but it's now close to 7 months and he's lost close to 80 lbs and looks and feels like a new man. he's not diabetic any more and all of his other functions have returned to normal. This operation gave my Bud a new lease on life and now he'll probably live to see his grandkids grow, or if he's real lucky, see his great grandkids. |
