I will be in California.
I visit the Goodguys Del.Mar Hot Rod Show in the first april week.
I like to do a LA. Rod- Shop Tour and stay by friends in Pleasanton and Livermore. ( If I get early vacations I like to visit the Goodguys All American Nats in Pleasanton in late march )

Thanks, Greetings , Condor

Condor,

Noticing that you are in Germany, is this a US based car? If Canadian or one sent to Europe, you may have a problem with US dealers. Not 100% sure if that applies to Chrysler but, it does to alot of cars.

Even if a US based car, some dealers say, "NO" to alot of big warranty work. I ran into that problem (as did others) with 2002 prowler w/ 300 miles on the OD w/ bad top. Took several phone calls and the district manager to finally sort it out.

If you don't get the answer you like at one dealer, try another.

condor Good luck with your wheels. I purchased my 2000 silver out of state from a private owner. Had the peeling problem on the wheels. Have two 5-star dealers in this area. First one told me that "they had no one that could even work on a Prowler". When i went to the second dealer i was told "if i had bought the car from them they would replace the wheels". I mentioned that we were looking at a PT and wondered if i purchased one from them and let's say had a problem out in Montana etc., would that dealer refuse to make my problem good? No reply. My car is now out of warranty by a month. Also i was told that they had no way to balance the tires. I reminded them the new Dodge SRT-10 will have 22 inch wheels and if they sell one how were they going to help that customer? Obviously not very good service and help to say the least. Love my kat but very disappoined in the warranty area. I'm waiting until the wheels get really bad and then i'll just have them powdercoated. Don't know what i'm going to do about the PT.

Lone---If my kat is under warranty and they said they wouldn't fix it because i didn't buy it from them! I would call chrysler and report that to them. If they said they didn't have a tire changer big enough i would have told chrysler about that during the same phone call. RPL and CJ both work for chrysler, i think they would like to hear about your rims now.

I have replaced wheels, tops, hood shocks, front shocks and several other item at the dealership where I work for a lot of prowler owners that bought them from other dealers, have not had a claim turned down yet, in some cases I get the DPSM involved before ordering the parts.

I think that a lot of the service departments are afarid to take care of some of these items because of lack of knowledge, and or because of thier warranty standings in the district, the more warranty claims you do can some times restrict your authorization level, so each dealer has to have some sort of self control, I for one will not fake a warranty or cheat on the time or mileage limit. but will do all I can to help a fellow Prowler Owner.

The only way for me to handle this problem is : -- I would take the shocks and the left chrom Wheel with me to California. My 2001 Prowler has now 24000 trouble fee miles on.
The Car has still Ohio registration + Plates.
Do you think a dealer can help mw when I bring the damaged parts with me ??
........
And, what would be the price for a new front chrom wheel.

If I read your post correctly and you are just going to bring the defective parts to the dealer and expect an exchange, I highly doubt they will do it.

I say this for a couple of reasons, 1) they do not know if the parts came off your car or your just helping a buddy who's car is long out of warranty 2) that you caused the damage taking the items off 3) that you will cause the same damage putting them back on 4) put them on improperly.

I thought you were bring the car back to the USA. I wish you luck if just bringing parts back. Perhaps someone else knows more about this and if your idea would work.

Good Luck

I have 500 miles on my car, what would the wheels and center caps only be worth. They are perfect but I am thinking about something aftermarket.

Yes , your are right. I thought it is the a easyest to bring the parts. It makes no sence to ship the car. If I ship a Prowler , than it is from the US to Germany.( my next Prowler will be a Mulholland Edition )
The front shocks are anyway not very good. Some guys replace them with Street Rod shocks that have bound/rebound
adjustment and a spring preload change. I can not change the softnes on my org. front shocks. A litle bit more driving comfort on the front axle would be nice on the Prowler. ( The Prowler is anyway not made for HighSpeeding )
---- Do you know the price for a front chrome wheel ?

about your shocks.its normal for them to seep a little at the top.if fluid is running down the shock, then replace.a new frt. wheel is around 525.00-rear around 625.00-thats list.

Hello, Jan Bruggeman
Thanks for the Information. by the way , I was in Nov. 2001 in Scottsdale ( .. a nice city) at the Goodguys Car Show and visited the SoCalSpeedShop. I bought at this time many parts for my 34 Ford Street Rod. I noticed a red prowler at the Fairground Swap Meet.I liked it a lot. 3 Days later I rentet a Mulholland Prowler in Las Vegas for a half day. ( My first Prowler ride) Even my girl friend liked it a lot, and thats how I came to a Prowler.
Greetings, " Condor"
