Too many to list or remember. Some of my sons, but I don't think all 4. Sandy, Marty, about 5 KY Speedway track workers, who knows how many at the dealership, a guy at a Black Tee party, maybe Larry Mayes because I was driving his Motorcycle, but I am not positive. There were some others, I am sure. Tom Mills at the distillery to test the hardtop and straight pipes for decibel levels. |

.....I have a couple of Prowlers I have hardly driven myself....but the ones I did drive, I let virtually ANYONE drive them or borrow them that asked.....I have a lot of fun seeing someones expression of disbelief when I tell them "the keys are in it".....many are scared to drive it, but I have seen people jump in my Kats and take off that I never dreamed would do it(really old people love them)......just last year my old orange Kat went to Prom NIght with a couple of local high school girls....they had a blast, were the hit of the evening and the Kat came home the next day with a full tank of gas and had been waxed to death ....I have loaned my Kats out over and over to kids for their senior pictures etc etc.....I remember being that age and wanting things I couldn't have...The Kats have been in parades with other people at the wheels and on and on .....I also let people drive the Vipers, but I am a little more careful there, the cars can be dangerous to a rookie....I will take anyone a Viper ride that asks though....and in all the years of loaning cars to people, I have yet to EVER have one damaged.....even if I did, I would still let people use them....it could change a young persons life....at the least it is something the people will remember their entire life.... |

Tangled...you are a brave and generous soul. Knowing the Prowler's blind spots and longer-than-it-seems-nose, I would expect the worst with someone else behind the wheel. let alone handing the keys to the Viper! My wife can drive the Prowler anytime, but why would she when she has her T-Bird?!? :D |

The only person to drive it without me in it, is my wife. She drives it whenever the mood hits her. It is after all our Prowler. Otherwise with me riding shot gun, I have let my sister, brother in law, 3 sons, 3 sons in law, one daughter in law and one fellow POA member drive it. For some reason none of my 3 daughters wanted to drive it. Very few people ask. I guess they know how particular I am. |

A big fat ZERO! I can't say I will never let someone else behind the wheel, but for now the number is ZERO. I had a friend visiting from Kazakhstan and he wanted to drive it, but since he didn't have a US license I declined. |

Besides the unknowns at the dealers, 2. My stepdad once to go get some burgers, and some girl I was trying to impress. I rode shotgun on that one and she scared the hell out of me. We were on a 3 mile straight away on a dike with no other cars on the road. She punched it and couldn't handle the rack and pinion steering and started weaving. Then when she stopped, she jambed on the brakes and almost put us over the edge. ------------------ |

I'd let almost anybody I know drive mine. Offered it several times, only had a few takers. Most everybody else had the same response...I don't want to be responsible if something happens, but thanks. How 'bout if you take me for a ride in it. |

Good question.. thanks for askin it Gary!
My wife (Eleanor) says she just enjoys the Ride.. without the hassle of the drive (course come to think of it it's been that way regardless of the cars we've had the last 27 years) ... Have to put me in the 'protective' but not 'over-protective' category maybe This message has been edited by GenoTex on 12-03-2003 at 03:42 PM |

I have let very few drive it.........BUT SUE lets alot drive it. I do not give the rides in it I let her and she will let them drive it sometimes My Dad has not driven it. He tells people that he has not driven it, even though I have offered for him to drive it several times. He did drive my `67 dart down the street this summer when I had it out....no front fenders, grill, hood, decklid, taillights or bumpers......OH no exhaust either, just open headers.something about 400 HP V8 4speed cars that are FUN TO DRIVE.......I also think he is afraid to drive the prowler since it is so hard to see out of and know where the frontend is at. ------------------ |
