Well it finally happened yesterday I drove "SUNKIST" to work and parked near the service drive for the day, after a couple of hours one of the sales people brought a couple over to see the cat they fell in love and without the hard top would pay me $41000.00 today! My mind clicked into gear real fast full well knowing I could replace her for about $35000.00 or less. Got a sick feeling after about 10 seconds and as I patted "SUNKIST" on the back of the rear deck said no thank you, and offered to help them find a cat of their own. Love is wonderful isnt it? block-buster ------------------ |

You may be able to replace Sunkist with a stock orange for $35k, but you've got thousands in mods on that beautiful kat much less your time and "sweat equity". On top of that you love THAT car! ------------------ |

similar story here. last month I received a very generous offer on my Mulholland (after trying to sell for two months with no bites). I was just about to seal the deal when I thought about what things would be like without my Kat. I felt just as hollow and empty as my garage would be. I made me physically ill. I apologized to the gentleman, turned down his offer and offered to help him in his search. |

I read this post first thing today. Amazingly, later in the day, a gentleman at the parts counter asked if the silver Prowler was mine, and would I like to sell it. Without hesitation I told him no. He was serious about purchasing a Prowler, so we talked about cars for a while, and I gave him the address of this forum. Strange coincidence. |

Any offer for ours would have to be ridiculously high for us to sell. I have the car exactly the way I want it (so far that is). It would have to be an amount that it would allow me to do everything I have already done all over again plus much much more. Besides we alrady have allot of memories in this particular Prowler. |

My family always feared I would sell my wife and kids if the price was right (no one ever made an offer).....most cars I just keep for a short time, but there are some that will never go anywhere again......don't sell if you don't want to, but cars are like women, always another one on the next corner This message has been edited by tangled up in BLUE on 09-23-2003 at 10:38 PM |

A car is just a car....BUT try to find a Prowler to replace yours that is in as good a shape as the one you sold...that's the tricky part. Once you know your car inside and out and all it's quirks, it's hard to part with it for an unknown factor. |

Anyone remember the movie "Corvette Summer"? they said in that movie "Cars are commidities (sp) to be bought and sold". I have lived by that rule all the years after that stupid movie and said it 100s of times, but couldnt do it this time. oh well! curtis |

Great story Curtis. If you're like me you'll kick yourself later. I had one of the very first Prowlers in the south of Louisiana and was offered $90.000 the day it was delivered. Because of the great deal a friend got me on the car, AT THAT TIME, knowing I couldn't replace it I said no. I still have bruises on my A** from kicking myself! Corvette Summer, Great movie. It inspired me to build a corvette almost just like that one that I sold just before buying the Prowler. ------------------ This message has been edited by onaprwl on 09-26-2003 at 10:31 AM |
