It still surprises me how many people go crazy over the Prowler. Had it out this weekend and as I was driving down the interstate a kid is hanging out the window of a van taking pictures. Drove to a small town having a festival and everyone is going crazy checking it out! A friend sees it and thinks I hit the lottery, but is bummed out when he finds out it costs less that his Expedition which nobody notices!! Another guy couldn't believe I would pay $60,000 for a new car!! He also couldn't believe it when he found out he paid more for a VW of some kind!!! ETC. It just goes on and on!!!!
Lots of SMILES.

I know what you mean.
I was in a 4th of July parade on Friday morning. I heard the words Batmobile twice, race car a dozen times, was asked if it cost $90K once, $75K once, asked what kind of car it was by 3 different people that had never seen one, overheard adults asking each other what it was and hearing their kids tell them and who knows how many photos taken.
I even heard a guy tell his wife it was a Plymouth Duster.

It was a fun time.

I was in my first parade on Saturday... It was fun.

As we rounded some turns and topped some hills, groups of folks started clapping.

I heard one adult answer another with authority.... "That's a Viper!"

I heard one women yell out... "Is that a PT Cruiser???"

I heard many young boys yell out... "I like your car!!!"

I heard many replies about the license plate... "Hey CAT DUDE... cool license plates!!"

I heard one young kid blurt out... "RENTAL!!!" ... lol...

One guy asked if he could borrow the car. He got a kick out if it when I responded and said.. "Sure... next week, no problem!".

It was a hot day... in the mid 90's... but it was really cool!!!

Have to admit ... even here on the highways of Illinois between Milwaukee and Chicago .. on the way back from a friend's charity car show (many unique and one-of-a-kind cars; Huppmobile and only Huppmobile convertible, couple functioning and driven Amphi-cars and many unique older Corvettes and street-rods) was on my way back with daughter in the car and 1 car did the same as above ... paced me and finally had person hanging out window snapping picture after picture. Many mouths could be seen saying "wow, nice car" followed by a thumbs up ... it does put a smile on your face and IS still amazing when they reallllly don't know WHAT it is ... Plymouth / Chrysler did a SUPER job of keeping this piece of automotive history a secret!

Had a neighbor drive by a few days ago that had never seen my car before. She asked when I got it. I told her and she stated, "And been restoring it ever since, right?" She said she had seen them before, but never one with such a wide rear end. (I resisted commenting on her wide rear end.) I enjoy all the various comments, especially when its a new comment we haven't run across before. Sometimes they even stare at the rear end and ask what kind of car it is, when "Plymouth" is prominently displayed on one bumper, and "Prowler" is proudly displayed on the other.
