Hi i am new to this board. Just wanted to say hello and ask a few Questions. I am now in the process of searching for a Prowler to buy. Will Prob be a 2002 or 2001. 1. Are all Prowlers the same horsepower or was there a horse power diff in Years. 2. I am in between the Red Mettalic Color and the Orange Mettalic. What Year were those Colors Available and What Interior Colors. 3. Does Anyone have their Rims PowderCoated to match Body Color Please Post a PIC. 4. Are there Parts problems with the Prowler "Availability" and Service issues. Also How Reliable is the Prowler. 5. Is it Realistic to Find a 2002 2001 Prowler in the Above Colors with about 5k-8k miles on it for about $31,000 US. |

Welcome and hope you are successful in your search. The person to contact for any still remaining "new" Prowlers would be CJ. You can send her a private message via this site. If you would like to call me personally, I would be glad to answer any questions you may have. My number is 800-669-3540. I have owned my Yellercat since June 2000 and have enjoyed every minute of it. Also, this board is "the" place to find any info and to answer any questions you have about your Prowler. Sincerely, Jay Harris |

I don't think you'll find a Candy Red for $31K. They only made 300 of them. It was the last regular production color to come off the line (very last one was a 'one off' electric blue). When I bought mine (March '02) some dealers were asking up to $12K over sticker for them (no, I didn't pay that!). Good luck, you'll love the Prowler, no matter what color. Mike |

1) All stock Prolwers are the same HP except for the 97's. 2) The Orange Prowlers are Plymouth's and were built in 2001 Candy Red's are all Chryslers and were the last production color and are 2002's. 3) Marc in CO. has his Purple Kats rims powder coated black. I saw one on Ebay with aftermarket rims painted orange on an orange Kat but they are the only one's I know of. 4) Parts and service issues depends on the dealer you have service your car. Some have had really bad experiences and some very good. One comom problem is the chrome blistering & peeling on the inside of the rims. Keeping the wheels clean and switching to Raybestos low dust brake pads will help minimize this condition. Most Prolwesr are not daily drivers. Marty Usher, Larry Lord and a few others would be the best to provide reliabilty answers. I have 25,000 miles on mine and have had very few problems. One thing all Prowlers seem to have in common is that the fuel guage is not very accurate. 5) I have seen low mileage Orange Prowlers advertised in your price range. As previously mentined the Candy Red may be harder to find for that price. ------------------ This message has been edited by BeWare on 07-03-2003 at 12:24 PM |

BeWare (et al) - There have been several problematic issues come up in postings that I have read where it seems all year models are effected, fuel gauge accuracy being one of them. On almost each of these issues, I find that my '97 doesn't have those issues. My fuel gauge has always been acurate. I wonder sometimes if the first year model was made better in some respects, then changes made to ensueing years that made it cheaper for DC? Oh, and welcome to the POA Calibus. You'll find most all the answers you seek at this wonderful site by doing a search. Its a plethera of information. ------------------ This message has been edited by idive on 07-03-2003 at 12:48 PM |
