What about an Official POA badge for any or all events that we can carry with us. It could be of commercial quality and the proceeds could help pay for the POA site. No I can't make them, just and idea though. What do ya think? Richard |

Richard - Are you talking about a POA name badge??? We have had them since the first national event in 2000,,,,and are also given out at some state/regional events. Just a thought,,,,,you could use one of Monahan's old, dirty, sweatie baseball cap and strap it to your headrest bar,,,,,,,,that way we will know it's you |

A/C, Richard is suggesting that we have re-usable badges so that they do not have to be remade for every big event. They could also then be used for local events. If we make them big enough we could actually have a little sticker made for each event that we attend. The badges do get expensive to make and if we had a permanent badge, it would cut down on some of the work. |

That is an item that our new Merchandise team could consider doing for the club! |

My idea was to have this badge in the car so that whenever Sharon and I were at a local event, everyone would have a name tag and it could be used again and again. CJ, how much might these badges cost? Richard |

Richard.........I have no idea at this time. The merchandise team would have to come up with a design and have a vendor give us a price. |

My kids work at the local YMCA during the Summer. They have name tags made of plastic with a two piece magnet to attach to their shirts. Magnets are strong.......Holds name tag nice and tight! No hole in shirts! I can ask what the "Y" paid for em if you are interested?! They are pretty slick! |

Richard - that's a very good idea. It sure would help those of us suffering from "face/name memory loss" ! ------------------ |

I'm pretty good at faces, and names I remember after 2-3 years! Badges at local cruise-ins with the Prowler folk and local get togethers would make life a little easier and less embarrassing. I can remember my name, my wife's and of course Ed's since the big sign in Louisville, a la Mr. Usher. LoL PS: Ed wanted to use his type of badge, but the cost factor alone would bankrupt the POA

Did anyone ever make a generic reusable POA badge?? Or could make one for me. It would be nice to have for car shows and those events that special badges are not made. ------------------ |

Here's a nametag Fred Henkel of the Houston Posse gave me when Curtis Blockhus and I visited in February. Printed on both sides, in a plastic holder with a clip to attach it to your pocket, collar, or anywhere you wanted. Measures 2 1/2 by 3 3/4 inches. Nice and looks good! Buddy |

If you look at the bottom of the picture you will see the hood badge....... I think a name badge about the size of the piece off the hood would be a nice size and style name badge if they could be made with name on top, logo in the center and maybe a year (year of car) on the bottom just my thoughts, but whatever it is a good idea |

Good idea, Wildcat.....I wonder if we could find a vendor who could do that? Will have to check into that! Could someone perhaps do a mock-up of something like you are describing to show a vendor? I'm definitely not an artist! This message has been edited by CJ on 04-13-2005 at 02:40 PM |

I recently had 240 badges made for a group. They are nice engraved badges with the magnetic clip and they were $8.50 each. |

I did some internet searching last night. There are a lot of companies that will do this. The $8.50 number sounds very reasonable and in line with what I saw. IMO a nice one would be a full graphic background with our name, car color and year. One site would make not just a square but in any custom format we would want(like a Prowler). Examples they showed were like a house or star. Sounds like we need to talk to Dan-Dan the Graphic Man. I think the POA store would be the best to coordinate this so everybody can buy the same and we can leverage the investment in the graphics . |

While I was searching I found this site and the price was extremely reasonable (little over $5) for a magnetic clip and that was not a quantity discount! And with a small $25 setup fee. http://www.naagtag.com/magnetic-full-color-custom-shaped-name-tags.html Wally This message has been edited by wallygator310 on 04-14-2005 at 01:27 PM |
